I was very fortunate to get a ticket to Radiohead here, and loved the venue. The only challenge is getting 3000 people out quickly, so take your time and relax.

Such a pretty venue with great acoustics and comfortable seats. That means a lot. I have been to other places where the seats are so close I feel like the person next to me is in my lap. Not so here. I was able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the lovely sounds of Andrew Bird. I was not familiar with his music but because of the environment here I really heard and saw him. I think it would be that way from anywhere in the place. If you have an opportunity to attend a show here you won’t be disappointed.

This year’s Circusfest season launches with a surrealist production, Super Sunday, from Finnish circus ensemble, Race Horse Company. The group style themselves as uncompromising, and this quality is manifest in the show– from the usual(and slightly baffling) introduction to the performers to the revelation of the set, the audience is left disarrayed at first. The tone of the show is peculiar, abstract and has moments of both dark and slapstick humour. Despite a gentle start that elicits a few sparse chuckles from the crowd, the show suddenly jumps into hyper drive and becomes an energetic ceremony of movement and acrobatics. The performers are all male and their strength and talent becomes increasingly obvious as the acts unfold. The stage is set up as a bizarre fairground, a somewhat creepy Victorian iteration with a carousel, seesaw and strongman game. And then there’s the imposing and lumbering wheel of death hanging over the stage before being introduced for the grand finale– needless to say, the closing breath-taking display is worth the visual anticipation. Using props, costumes and demonstrating their own agility, balance and strength, the cast have put together an entertaining show: it highlights the performers’ impressive abilities while using props to allow them to scale to mind-boggling heights. They swing, tumble and launch one another into hastily erected(and somewhat inadequate looking) nets, creating moments of tension and awe. The prevailing comedy makes the show more engaging than merely a spectacle– the performers are clever, exaggerating the awkwardness of scene changing in the venue’s awkward space. Their struggle setting up two large trampolines on the constrained stage area is emphasised for comic effect. And there’s a little bit of leather and drag thrown in for good measure because, well, it all begins to feel a bit like a boys’ club. Super Sunday is a high energy, fun and off-kilter production that delivers a solid 70 minutes of jaw-dropping fun– it’s unique, playful and slightly dark, but the feats speak for themselves. There’s no dialogue, no emcee and the performers look like they’re having an absolute blast. This is a brilliant introduction to the Circusfest programme at The Roundhouse and highly recommended. It’s only running until the 16 April, but if you miss it, don’t panic– if the calibre of the other shows is as high as this one, you really can’t go wrong. Circusfest runs at The Roundhouse until the 24 April 2016. I hope to catch another performance before the big top closes its doors.

The Roundhouse is an insane venue, so great to see a show in. It’s a massively large round space with beautiful lighting and amazing acoustics. I’ve seen a bunch of shows here and they never fail to impress. If you’re looking to see some fantastic band play, this is the spot. It’s also easy to get in and get around. There are multiple bars on each floors and things like terraces if it’s a nice night. The crowd can get a little crazy to get in but they usually do a good job of moving it along. One of my only issues with it is the structure on the floor. There are giant pillars on the ground that go up to the ceiling, which is great when you’re standing because it makes you feel like you’re in a specific concert space, but not so great when you’re sitting because they block the damn view. They seem more decorative than actually support wise so it just seems like bad planning. But beyond that, I’d go here anytime, anywhere. It’s a great venue.

I absolutely love this venue and am ashamed I did not review it immediately after my experience here last September for the Apple Music festival. What I love is this place is an iconic venue for London and Apple was smart to make this the home of the Apple Music-previously iTunes Music Festival. I came here with a friend of mine because we won tickets to the Pharell show because of a contest we entered. Once you walk in you are transported to a different world –though it keeps its old character this place is extremely modern considering the amount of years it has been around. You walk up the stairs and the halls were lined in this case with portraits of performers at the music festival all in black and white shots. My favorite part is that this place has roughly three bars on premises –I may have missed one. The one upstairs served beers on draft and the outside terrace is wonderfully lined in wood and greenery with an outside bar with what I believe were food options in the case of this event. It is a great space to mingle before the show starts. Once you’ve gotten your buzz on, you can take the drink into the venue and no worries if you run out of booze as there is another bar inside the stage area/standing area. If you have ever watched the festival it is just what it looks like-a huge pit for people to stand with an upper level with a few seats but there is honestly no bad seat in this place. We were so close we pretty much could see Pharell breathe. What I loved is that you are having a genuine connection with the artist since they are not singing to a crown of thousands. The Brits can be hit or miss though so be courteous as they will voice their opinions if you cut their view and in the case of this show they all seemed reserved for some reason– I felt both my friend and I were the only ones dancing. I feel like this is like going to New York and going to see a show at the Apollo or radio city it is a must do if you are in London and there is someone worth viewing. This particular area of town also gets very popular as there are plenty of pubs and clubs near by.

The Roundhouse has built a outstanding reputation over the last few years as the venue of choice by so many bands, artists and theater groups for a good reason. Firstly, the space is beautiful — as you guessed — it’s a huge circular space with a perfect view pretty much anywhere you stand in the venue(unless it’s behind one of their huge pillars obviously). There’s a seated balcony for those of you who prefer to have a nice comfy seat for your viewing needs — in this venue, this is my preferred choice but be aware that for bands, this is usually reserved for guest list only. The Roundhouse offers a great kitchen/bar area which is open to the general public whether you’re attending a show in the venue or not. There’s always a great selection of comfort foods on the menu and the bar is pretty well stocked too. As someone who’s put on shows at the venue, I can’t praise the staff highly enough. Super professional and happy to accommodate as much as they can, they’re the perfect team to make an incredible show happen.

Love coming here as the space is really great for intimate gigs. If you stand at the front you are almost touching distance. There is a bar at the back, so you don’t miss any action while getting a drink. There is seating on the upper level where you can get a good view of the stage from any angle. There is also a terrace and outside bar and in the summer they even have a beach. For the ultimate experience and unique view of the show there is a dedicated bar for Roundhouse Members at the side of the stage on the upper level, with bar seats and tables. Feel very VIP here!

One of my favourite venues for live music in London and as a lazy gig go-er you get a cracking view from the balcony seats! Saw Arcade Fire here in 2014 and it was a highlight for the year, they filled the room with an incredible energy and the venue and its staff suited their style perfectly.

Of all the concert venues I have been to, this… THIS… is the best one of all. I went to two concerts there: In March, i witnessed Karnivool and Monuments tear the place apart(!), in May I saw Doom Metal cult band Electric Wizard deliver a great and haunting performance. Both concerts sounded clear and loud. And this is why I LOVE this venue. Everything is made so that the concert-goer has a good time. The people who work there are organized and incredibly friendly. Never did i feel threatened or lost. You want to leave your coat at the front desk? No worries! They’ll do it and keep it safe. The bars within the venue are also really nice. I was blown away by the mere sight of good quality Cider at only £3! But what matters most is the concert experience. As I said, this is the best gig venue i have ever been to. The sound was crisp and powerful, the crowd was incredible, it wasn’t that hot… the vibe was unique.

FANTASTIC! It is lovely to see an arts group supporting young artists, especially with all the cuts to the arts *cough* politics *cough*. They hire out their music rooms for mega cheap prices and there is ALWAYS something going on for under-25s especially(and over!), check out their website for sure for some cheap, sometimes free, courses and opportunities! The Roundhouse itself is a beautiful mix of old and new, and if you haven’t seen anything there? Their tech is amazing, and worth a look if only for that. Truly amazing place, so glad to have finally discovered it and recommend you all do too! DONTMISSTHECAMDENBEACH! It comes in the summer time and its beautiful, definitely worth a look but again. Check the website! Sign up to the mailing list! THEYDOFREETHINGS! INLONDON!

I’m so lucky to live in Camden and be able to visit the Roundhouse for fabulous concerts/plays. The atmosphere in this place is second to none and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s modern and clean, but the minor flaw is that some seats are restricted view. So make sure your seat is not behind one of the pillars.

Was lucky enough to win tickets a few years back for the Itunes festival to see Plan B. It was smaller then I expected but I liked the idea of not being a million miles away from the stage. I would defo recommend booking tickets if your favorite artist is playing here because it is small and intimate. Can’t wait for my next time here.

I’ve seen some great bands in terrible venues and some terrible bands in great venues but luckily for my first visit to Roundhouse I got the perfect combination The venue is a really cool space with a big circular stage and a weird pointed room which does wonders for the acoustics although if you don’t manage to grab a good spot your view of the stage can be ruined buy the supporting pillars. Still, I’d rather that than the roof fall down! The bar was located at the back of the venue so a bit tricky to get to from the middle but ideal if you don’t mind hanging towards the back of the press. My biggest problem was with the bars. No stock of advertised beers in 3 different bars leading to a sever lack of choice. Just to rub salt in the wound they charge £4.50+ for the pleasure. For once I wish music venues would stop trying to rip off a captive audience and charge more reasonable prices.

I’ve only been to the Roundhouse for an awards ceremony, rather than gigs. From an awards /event perspective its a great venue. A large desk /delegate area as you arrive followed by a bar /holding area where people can get a drink before heading into the main hall. The hall itself is magnificent. Circular(unsurprisingly) with an industrial feel. There is plenty of room to seat many people around large circular tables and a large stage at the far end. the staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the 3 course meal provided was both delicious and hot(something quite unique for an event space of that size).

4.5÷5 I went to Roundhouse yesterday to visit the futuristic, Imogen Heap-branded«Reverb“event [highly recommended!]. What an impressive, state-of-the-art venue! I was nice to see it didn’t bother to make itself into a grungy, punchy establishment like the rest of Camden’s venues and attractions. In the summer(and I hope they do it next year) they host Camden Beach on their expansive outdoor deck, and it’s a must-see(whenever the weather cooperates). Lastly, there’s the well-reviewed Made Bar & Kitchen on the ground floor, which looks pretty neat while passing through. If you have an event or concert housed here, you’re in for a treat. Kudos, Roundhouse.

If you haven’t gone to Camden Beach here yet, go. Now. Yes, at first I was skeptical that you could recreate a beach on a rooftop without having it feel really cheesy and manufactured. But that’s not really what the goal is — it’s to provide a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere where you can go and be a kid again, except this time, you can sip an alcoholic slushie while building your sand castle. It’s a really neat rooftop concept, and on a Saturday afternoon, I can’t think of many other places in London where you can get in for free, enjoy some reasonably priced(for Camden at least) beers, and just kick back with some friends without the pretension that all other rooftop bars seem to come with… Plus: 2−4−1 cocktails every Monday through Friday!

So, I saw Prince here. And, you know, Prince is amazing. So I’m not sure if it’s the venue itself or just how he does his shows, but a few things that could be improved: 1) There’s not much seating room. The vast majority of the people attending the show were crammed onto standing on the floor, lots of people are tall, the floor is not inclined, and the stage is not very high. This limits the ability to see. 2) There were no screens, so I just plain couldn’t see the performance most of the time. I’m average height, so I feel bad for the short people. 3) They didn’t even start letting people in until 15 minutes before the performance was set to start. So it didn’t start until an hour and a half after it was supposed to. 4) Honestly, the sound wasn’t that great most of the time. This may have been due to just the sheer over-loudness. Prince himself made up for much of this… but the venue really seems like it could do better.

I wish I could give it more because when you experience a music concert or a show here, it really is amazing. The main room is wide and short with a long stage, so wherever you stand you don’t feel too far away from the performers, you have a good view and the acoustics are excellent, especially considering it’s a round building. The visual effects are also pretty cool, with various light shows going on and images flicking around the performers on stage. And its location in the heart of Camden means that there are LOADS of places to eat and drink at before and after. No, the Roundhouse as a venue is not why I’m giving it one star. The staff are. I’ve been here twice and both times was greeted by rude and unpleasant staff who acted like I was interrupting their busy and important day to ask a question. I felt like an inconvenience, a nothing and the last time I actually left nearly in tears after a woman looked at me like I’d dribbled on myself. It completely ruined the experience of walking into such a beautiful venue and I now can’t think of it without feeling a sense of dread and upset. When I think of an ideal venue, I think of places like the Royal Theatre on Drury Lane, the O2, the Wyndham, even the Barfly opposite. Places that I pay to go to and have a good time in. Not places where I’m made to feel unwelcome and a bother. I’m so disappointed it hurts. I really am.

I have been visiting the Roundhouse for at least 5 years now and it never fails to impress me! With the recent refurbishment it’s an even more impressive venue! The sound is probably the best there is in London, and having seen a large variety of genres the sound is amazing for all! I always look forward to seeing bands and artists play here.
