Lovely Sirloin beef with all the extras a Sunday roast comes with! Service took ages(it was very full) ~1h… And the bread I ordered never arrived. I would definitely recommend the food though !!

I quite liked this bar, I stopped by as I was meeting up with a crowd in this bar and then to move in to the local Weatherspoon’s in Wimbledon village. A cosy bar that was quite busy that had several rooms /areas dotted around that included a beer garden at the back that had a DJ playing. The drinks served was good, I could see that there was plenty on tap on offer, shame I couldn’t stay longer.

Lovely venue which has a very relaxed feel. We were served quickly at the bar and there were plenty of tables. A great place to go when it’s sunny because they have a good size outdoor area. Only slight negative is that the food took a while to arrive. Overall great experience.

Lovely pub in Wimbledon Village near the common with a beautiful layout inside. A couple bars, indoor seating, conservatory seating, a covered walled garden, and a big marquee for the summer season attached as well. Not as much space to sit as might be expected for the size of the outdoor spaces, but the seating there is very nice. Service at the bar was a bit sketchy, but the staff running tables were very quick and friendly.

Another good pub in Wimbledon Village. Popped in here after Wimbledon earlier this week and it was great. Nice atmosphere. Quite expensive but worth it for the atmosphere!

Well, the Rose & Crown is nice enough inside and everything, and the bar is well thought out, in the sense that it’s in the middle so you never have to stagger more than about 2m to buy your next drink. However, I have three serious issues with this pub: 1) during Wimbledon(the tennis, not some weird temporal version of the place) this place just gets PACKED with employees, mainly court attendants flaunting their security passes like badges of honour, and it turns into some suburban pub extension of Magaluf/playground for posh children with too much money. 2) the price of a soft drink in here is extortionate. 3) this may not be entirely fair but I went here on Christmas Eve two years ago and I waited ANHOURAND A HALF at the bar to buy A DIETCOKE. Now I appreciate that most places are busy on Christmas Eve but jeepers, 90 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Talk about crushing my festive spirit. So yeah, if you want to be squashed like a sardine in a tin then go here but otherwise head out of the village a bit, or into Putney and you will find better pubs with cheaper drinks and a sufficient supply of oxygen.

One of the larger pubs in Wimbledon Village, the young’s owned or supplied Rose and Crown is the last pub you will hit on the way toward Wimbledon Common. Although, that doesn’t mean it is worth a stop then, instead save it for the way back. I did that recently and was delighted that whilst friends of mine were at work, I was supping Young’s Special in the bar as the light outside dimished to dark. The daytime custom is male. I am currently 26 and I was the youngest. I am pleased I can get moments like that and would travel for miles for a pub like this at 4pm in the winter. However, I can’t award more stars as the food seems pricey and there are not really any young people here even on a Friday and Saturday night. Unless it is tennis fortnight and this place becomes super busy with the ‘yah yah’ of Pimm supping ladies, well groomed gentlemen, late teens working at the AELTC in the garden. The problem is I can’t stand this crowd for longer than three hours either.

I went to have a drink here on Friday night around 5pm as was looking for venues in Wimbledon for a birthday and drinks at the end of the month and was considering this place. I thought it was a very nice Youngs pub and had a nice atmosphere so I definitely plan to go back there for some more drinks another night. Although be warned that they charge £1 for a dash of coke so when drinking spirits it might be cheaper to buy a bottle of coke. Also as mentioned by katajenka the pub also has a hotel for those that might want to stay in the area.

This is a popular pub in Wimbledon village. There is a beer garden out the back and they sometimes do BBQs there in the summer. They also serve a good food menu. They do a normal selection of beers and wines. The Rose and Crown is also a hotel; but I havent stayed there so I can’t comment on it. Its location is very good; close to the common so perfect for a swift pint after a breezy walk.

A fairly traditional pub in Wimbledon, this isn’t a bad place for a pint and a bit of grub. I’ve had the ham, egg and chips option plenty of times and it usually delivers on at least 2 out of 3 fronts. If you add in the quality beer, cider and larger options to that, majority rule definitely swings the balance in this place’s favour. They have a nice little beer garden outside and even in winter it is quite sheltered. During the tennis season they of course have games on and it can be a good place to escape the crowds(except when a Murray is playing obviously) and chill out a little. The TV screens are most certainly not flat and they’re pretty small but the volume goes up high and the locals have been around long enough to know what’s going on way before John McEnroe and BBC Sport anyway.
