Had a really bad eyebrow threading job today. I asked for them to be kept quite thick, when I got back to work and looked in the mirror my one eyebrow is a totally different shape and I have little hairs left everywhere– between my brows, on top and underneath. At £15…(double what I normally pay at my local south west London salon) I’d really have expected a professional job, actually I’ve had better jobs done at the Superdrug express threading booths. Going to have to be late to work tomorrow and get them properly shaped at another salon. Waste of my money.

I’m a regular here, and must agree that it is a lovely friendly salon, where the staff really do try to help you (either that or they’re just really good at spin!). The salon has recently moved a few doors down the road and is now called Rosanna Shaw’s in case anyone goes looking for it, although the staff and treatment are the same. I can vouch for the facials — my skin felt great afterwards, and the pedicures are a lovely treat too.

I had a voucher for a free beauty treatment and I discovered I could redeem it here, and so I booked in for a facial.
The woman on the phone asked if I would like to upgrade my free facial (15 mins) to a full one (£40, 1hr 15) and use the voucher as £10 off that price. I declined, as I’ve never had a facial in my life and thought I should try it out before I commit to a full one.
I found the Beauty Basement, not far from Holborn tube, in the basement of The Cutting Room. This is why I’ve only given it 4 stars, as the size of it (tiny) and the location (underneath a hairdressers, bit confusing) are not ideal.
However, Lauretta, who did my facial, was brilliant. It lasted almost double what I was told it would, and never felt like she rushed at all. The facial also involved some massage, which was wonderful, and my skin felt lovely afterwards.
I would certainly come back for other treatments here again as the service was excellent, and it’s not very far from where I work.
