Rogers & Sons: Shoe Repair and Key Cutting

Rogers & Sons is your typical Shoe Repair and Key Cutting shop located in the Balham Tube Station (although Unilocal does not seem to have a Key Cutting category for me to list them under).
I simply used their key cutting service. It was quick and perfect. Easy.
However, I have rated them low for their unacceptable customer service with the customer who was in line in front of me. She had recently had the strap of a high heel shoe repaired there and the stitch job on the strap had since rubbed on her foot and caused an uncomfortable blister. I was waiting in line as she was simply asking them to remove the stitch (she was not even asking for her money back). The repair man began yelling (I mean yelling) at her about how his shop never does such a bad job until finally throwing the shoe at her (that’s right!) and telling her to come back and deal with the man who actually did the work when he’s on shift. I applaud the customer who completely remained calm.
I had my keys cut there, and as stated above, all went well (although he complained to me about the previous customer the entire time). However, after the way he treated the previous customer I felt a bit ashamed that I used his services. Upon telling this story to another shop owner in the neighborhood, that shop owner suggested the Timpson Shoe Repair and Key Cutting shop just about 30 meters away from Rogers & Sons on Balham High Road, as they are very good. I haven’t used them but went in there and got a very customer friendly vibe.
Perhaps the lesson here is that Rogers & Sons is great for key cutting but not for shoe repair, but because of my principles (no one should talk to someone else that way, especially a customer) I will use the recommended Timpson shop just 30 meters away in the future.
