Ok so I am only basing this review on the lunch time buffet I had, which, at £4.99 per person is alarming cheap and was almost a cause for concern… I was worried that it might be an over-salty over-greasy affair reminiscent of the Pizza Hut buffets which were such a regrettable part of my misspent youth. Fortunately I was massively pleasantly surprised. For a start, the salad bar is huge and, without wishing to overstate it, pretty damn gourmet. My favourites were the aubergine antipasti and the mozzarella tomato and basil salad. There’s also a huge range of hot dishes available, everything from the Brazilian staple of beans(one with sausage for carnivores, one without for vegetarians) and rice, potato dishes, oven bakes etc etc. It’s worth mentioning that if you want the ‘churrascaria’(a variety of different barbecue meats, brought to you by the waiter), the price goes up to £9.99 which I still think is not bad value given the quality and range of meats available.

With the populrity and growth in Peruvian restaurants in our capital and with Lima becoming the first Peruvian restaurant in the world to gain a Michelin star, it seems like this is the coming of South American cuisine in London Rodizio Preto has been expanding with branches popping up in the last year. It’s a churrascaria — a Brazilian grill — restaurant The premise is quite simple. There are hot dishes and salads available at a buffet. For a lesser fee, you can eat to your heart’s content here. However, that would be missing out the while point of the churrascaria. For a little extra, you get access to the barbecued meat. These are grilled on skewers in the kitchen, which is open to view They are then served up at your table by waiters,. who carve slivers of meat onto your plate. You have a simple counter with green ‘Yes, more please!’ side and a red ‘Time Out/Enough’ side that you flip over depending on the state of your stomach. Incidentally, this is what the little pair of tongs are for at the table — you grab onto the meat as the waiter carves As expected, the quality of the meat varied from beautifully succulent to overcooked. The buffet was OK. For volume of food and parties, it’s a nice venue but if you fancy a nice top class steak, it’s probably best to look elsewhere
