I live in the US and ordered a pair of jeans from Rivet and Hide. The jeans are from a small Japanese denim maker that uses one loom to produce all the denim for their jeans and they are incredibly hard to find due to the small quantities made. This shop had the last pair of new size 33s in the world and new ones won’t be produced until next year. I had questions about the jeans and shipping methods and all in all I sent about 7 or 8 emails. Despite the six hour time difference Danny answered each of my queries within a five minute window. The customer service is top notch. The prices are a little higher than some US stores — I’m guessing because they don’t refund the Value Added Tax like most retailers do. However to offset this they offer free two day shipping to the US. I’ll update the review to include the ease of receiving the shipment, but wanted to give a shout out to Danny at Rivet and Hide for his stellar customer service.

Rivet & Hide is hands down my favourite menswear shop in London. I first discovered them back when they were still operating out of a warehouse in Parson’s Green, and online. Since then, owners Danny and Junior have opened a storefront on Windmill Street in Fitzrovia. I highly recommend stopping by their shop to talk denim, hangout and browse their product. These guys know it all: heritage, craftsmanship, fit recommendations, aging — you name it. I’ve found some pretty rare items there from Japanese(Pure Blue Japan, UES, The Flat Head, Iron Heart), UK(ByBeattle, Hiut, Dawson), US(3Sixteen, Mister Freedom), and Scandinavian(Indigofera, Steel Feather) brands. They also carry various other items beyond denim such as shirting, jackets, wool blankets, and leather carry goods. Many of their products can only really be found in Japan, or maybe Self Edge(California). They really have a unique offering for London and EU denim heads.
