Beautiful posh setting, the service is impeccable and the staff friendly. The portions are not large, but I would going for a set menu as it offers good value. The bread comes with delicious dips to try and overall it was a great experience. I was impressed how well they handled our group — about 10 ppl — as other restaurants, even upscale ones, find this to be a challenge. I would recommend Rivea and would come back myself.

Stunningly good. We had not expected anything so special, but this has got to be one of the finest restaurants in London. Impeccable service and amazing food. Even homemade grissini with a selection of nine tiny dips is so original.

This is an amazing restaurant. The service is impeccable and the facilities are amazing. Although the portions are small, they give bread on the side. Would really recommend doing the 3 course lunch deal for £35pp.

If you love food, and haven’t been living under a rock in the wilderness, you probably have some idea who renowned chef Alain Ducasse is. His reputation is well earned and his cooking is truly outstanding. That said not everyone can afford, or even get a table at his ultra stylish restaurant in the Dorchester. Now however there is a slightly more accessible alternative called Rivea. Located in the Bvlgari Hotel in Knightsbridge, Rivea is slightly more relaxed version of the grown up original. That is not to say it is not equally stylish or delicious, it is just to say it is a bit more informal. Slightly. Starting with the menu which is based on the progressively trendy way of eating these days: tapas or small plate servings. The intention being to either share or to try several smaller dishes. Artfully presented as seen in the marinated anchovies, this is not bar food but more casual dinning in a very swank atmosphere. As with all of Ducasse’s cooking, his menu is strongly influenced by the South of France. The artichoke ravioli were sublime and you could really taste the artichoke, and the tapenade was straight out of France. The desserts were also outstanding, rhubarb with almond ice cream was the perfect way to end. Rivea is exciting and elegant without being too fussy. From the décor, to the service, to the food, everything feels approachable and friendly while still conveying a sense of theater and it being a treat. And this treat you can indulge in a bit more often. A delightful evening out.
