Honestly, I just have a fantastic time every time I go to this place. It’s a bit out of the way — about 10 minutes walk from Stockwell station but so worth it. From the outside you might question what you are getting into — but the second you walk into the restaurant you are immediately welcomed by the owners. He’ll sit you down in the bar if you are early and bring some nibbles while you peruse the menu. Then into the dining room for plate after plate of delicious tapas. I haven’t had a bad meal, bad experience, bad anything here and that makes it 5 star worthy. As a side note, they are doing a special menu right now(not sure how long it will last) called ‘Feed me Tapas’. For £16/person they just bring whatever is good that day — this most recent time we had stuffed peppers, grilled steak, razor clams, meatballs, frito misto, lentils, eggplant chips and I’m sure a few others I’m forgetting. Some were things we would have ordered, some not, but everything was super delish.

This has remained my fave restaurant in London since my first trip over many years ago. I always sat at the bar and had tapas, but finally had the veggie paella the last time and it was sublime(and HUGE)! My fave bartender Orlando left a while ago, but waiter Marco ALWAYS remembers me when I come in(no matter how much time has passed). It’s a comforting spot in a(thankfully) not too crowded neighbourhood. Great wine choices, too.
