Radisson Blu Edwardian Kenilworth

Kenilworth is a bit dated, but the staff is friendly and the rooms are still fairly nice. If you can, I recommend staying at its sister hotel next door, the Radisson Bloomsbury. Also if these aren’t available, I really enjoy the Bloomsbury Hotel (you just can’t benefit from Club Carlson though… which is a pity!).
Great central location near the tube, shopping and next to all the best restaurants. It’s also right across from the British Museum. If you’re a coffee snob like me, and looking for good coffee nearby, check out Monmouth or Tapped & Packed.

I was attending a conference there and the sound equipment was horrible! The speakers had to really go through a lot of trouble trying to make their talks as the microphone was constantly going on and off. Besides that the conference rooms are rather tiny, so it’s maybe a good place for only limited amount of participants.

Amazing location. Nice but small rooms (small by American standards. Plenty large by European).
Do not use the phone — racked up a $ 250 bill on a single phone call to change my flight home.

Friendly and attentive staff, super cozy robes, clean rooms, good cardio machines in the fitness room, ²⁴⁄₇ room service — excellent croissants and fruit dish for breakfast. Surrounded by shopping and dining.

A great location, but as elderly travelers, this hotel was very uncomfortable for us. First we were given a room with two tiny beds, with rock-​hard mattresses. We had to upgrade (at additional cost) to a room with one single (larger) bed and a sofa bed (which I could never get to retract, so it stayed open the entire time, making it very difficult to move around in the room). Staff was helpful and friendly, but I think the Radisson name led us to expect a more American package of amenities (live and learn).

The location is great. You can walk to so many great spots for business or fun (aka spending your money down to the lint in your pockets).
The rooms were quite nice and the windows open, thank you! The dining room staff ran the gamut from very sweet to Nurse Ratched. I tend to find obnoxious people amusing, but my fellow travelers were less accommodating. Still, good breakfasts. The bar had a fair selection, but closed early enough that jet-​lagged imbibing wasn’t convenient.
My favorite was the elevator voice. She made up for the fact that I demagnetized my room card four times… yes, 4! Unfortunately, that card accesses your floor. Miss Lift, as I came to call her… was very tolerant of my continual ramming in of my room key card and outburst of American expletives. Bless her.
Tip, don’t put your room key next to your mobile phone.

Requested early check in and high floor, arrived at 11am and was given a tiny cramped room which I refused. Came back at 3pm per their request and was given coffin sized room on first floor.
Glassed in Shower was smaller than a phone box.
Tiny elevator required a room key and was used by staff tasks so long delays. Key insert also required for electricity and air in room. Only one towel in bathroom. Used glasses were not replaced.
Location was good and staff were average but in 30 years of international travel this was the smallest room ever. Complaints were joked away.
Being Club Carlsson member meant nothing.

Pros:
+ LOCATION! I love Bloomsbury — and the hotel is literally across the street from the Great Russell St. bus stops and just a quick walk to the Tottenham Court Rd. bus stop or tube station; slightly further to Holborn or Goodge St. So convenient to everything and a nice area.
+ Room (single with a double bed — includes a big desk and a small table with two armchairs) was clean and a perfectly acceptable size, at least for a 5’4″ chick. I loved the funky blue velvet bedding and my gorgeous view of the British Museum dome. Quiet and comfortable.
+ Minibar can be used as a fridge for your own cheap bottled water or snacks (why spend £3.50?)
+ Free wifi
+ 110V outlet included
+ Hotel lobby includes a connected bar & restaurant — very pretty but expensive! £11.50 for breakfast, no thanks.
Cons:
— Wifi was very unreliable.
— The safe didn’t work — I complained about this to mgmt and it was not fixed.
— Toilet/​bathroom is quite tiny (but it’s London, what do you expect?)
— Elevator music in the elevator is truly annoying
— Was told I’d be charged for using the minibar but staff removed the charge after I explained I hadn’t eaten anything.
— Makeup mirror with good lighting would have been nice
— Room needs more drawers for clothing
— As a solo female traveler: only one lock on the door but I was on the 5^th floor. I felt quite safe except for having a homeless man threaten to kill me about a block away from the hotel, but hey…

I stayed one night at the Radisson Edwardian Kenilworth Hotel. The location is very good, just a few minutes away from Tottenham Court Road tube station. In close proximity to the hotels there is also some great tourist spots (if that is why you are visiting) such as the British Musuem. The added benefit of the location is that it is not on a really busy street so while central location it is still fairly calm.
I arrived early but was still given my room right away. I had one of the single rooms and I was, after reading reviews on TripAdvisor, sort of worried about it being very small. Granted it is not a big room but still big enough for one person and seeing that it is London it is not tiny (compared to some of the other hotels I stayed at in London such as the Grafton or any of the Best Western hotels I stayed at the room here was decent sized). There is sufficient space to move around in the room and it is possible to sit both by the desk and the separate table.
The room was clean and the furniture was ok. Not at all my style in design but there was nothing wrong with it. Bed was comfortable and big enough for one person. The room had a desk (big enough to work at), free wifi, tv, iron, ironing board, safe, mini-​bar and coffee/​tea making facilities. The hotel also had a decent business centre and fairly ok gym.
The bathroom was a bit on the small side but functional enough. I think that a four star property could provide small bottles of shampoo and shower gel instead of the big bottles attached to the wall.
Service was overall very friendly but I did on the other hand not have any real problems so no need to interact much with staff except for on check-​in and check-​out.

This Hotel was very great in service, but the room size was no bigger then a dorm room at a college. So be prepared to pay a pretty penny for it, and stay in a small box.

Stayed here on a recent visit and have no complaints at all. Room was surprisingly large for a European hotel (we had 2 singles, plus a chair that folded out into a cot for the one night we had a 3^rd person). Free wifi was great, and the bathroom/​shower were large too. Location was good (easy to walk to the blue line to catch a train to Heathrow my last day and save the expensive cab fare). We walked to Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben/​Parliament, Buckingham Palace — we even walked to Harrod’s, though I suspect that would be more than most would want (and we did take the underground back that night). And so close to the British Museum was nice, too — had never been there before this proximity made me try it out — very nice! Staff was also friendly and helpful.
Oh — and there’s another Radisson Edwardian directly across the street, which can add some confusion. When my brother took a cab from Heathrow, the driver took him to that one and a very confusing conversation ensued with the front desk there (though I have no idea why they didn’t immediately suggest that he was at the other hotel).

Stayed there Jan 2011 so we could see a show on Saturday evening. Had a free upgrade, which was lovely of them. Found all the staff friendly and professional. Room was very clean. Heating controls did not work and shame the mini bar was not free. TV channels were limited. Did not fancy paying £21 for breakfast when there are amazing Italian cafes 1 minute away for £5. Did not bother either with the restaurant in the evening when you can dine in 100’s of amazing places near the Theatre.
A lovely birthday treat and would go there again.

Exceptional location and comfortable rooms.

Reasonable rates, free wi-​fi and a nice restaurant/​bar located close to all the most popular parts of London.
The only thing going against this hotel is the single room I had was on the small side and TV was not included.
If I was to travel back to London again I would try to stay here. It’s walking distance to shopping in Soho, Big Ben and Trafalgar Square. I even walked to the Tower Bridge from here, that was kind of long, but very nice. It is also right next to the British Museum!!!

I’ve stayed at the Radisson Edwardian Kenilworth on numerous business and leisure trips to London. It’s about a block from the Tottenham Court Road Tube station and very convenient to the Theater. Lots of little shops around so you can grab a late night snack and/​or stock up on goodies at Boots. The hotel is quite nice and reasonably priced considering it’s London although I’m sure the exchange rate has not helped. The room I’ve always had was very small, but it was clean and modern and the bathroom was very new and spotless. I’d definitely stay there again on a return visit as long as it wasn’t too expensive.
