How Oh How did I forget to review this place!!! Oh well better late than never! So I was here a few months ago for a special vodka infused evening! We had about 6 – 7 course I think of vodka infused meals! With every meal we were given a vodka cocktail and let me tell you they didn’t skimp on the booze! Woah! … By course 3 I was well and truly drunk lol To top it all off we had a vodka tasting ! By Jove! What took it to new heights was that it was sound based! So to round it off it was a silent disco with individual headphones and tons of vodka! The night was really amazing! From what I can remember! Lol I clearly remember the hangover though! Great hosts and the staff were friendly and fun! 4.5 stars!!!

This is just a building used to host pop ups rather than an actual dining establishment, but it’s very quaint and cute with a nice layout. A huge window looks out onto the street, complete with a bench to sit at and eat as you watch the world go by. There’s only one(unisex) toilet, which can be a problem if it’s busy. Thankfully, the intimate little event that was hosted here last night didn’t have that problem. I was given a free ticket to a Vodka Rocks dinner, so I came along. This place is about a five or ten minute walk from Farringdon tube station, but make sure you have Google Maps to help you find it, its location is tricky! There’s a huge chalkboard advertising the various pop ups that will be guesting there each week. This would probably be a great place to come for lunch, if you work in the area. Anyway, onto the event itself. I arrived and immediately noticed the quiet ambience and low mood lighting — very romantic if you’re there on a date. I sat at a table and was shortly joined by two fellow Unilocalers. There was water for every table, which was a nice touch. Not just a glassful, but a jug. We began with a mimosa(Californian citrus vodka and Prosecco, garnished with a mulled wine spiced burnt orange). This was zingy and refreshing, if a little pulpy. This was paired with ethically sourced salmon, three day cured in Babicka vodka with dill, chives, lemon, lime and orange, served with crusty bread slices. I’m not a huge fan of fish, so was apprehensive about this first course. There was so much salmon! I couldn’t finish it all, but what I did eat was delicious and had a nice smoky flavour to it. Next up was a Fever Tree Berlin Mule(German vodka, fresh lime juice and Fever Tree ginger beer). This was my favourite of all the cocktails we were served. Delicious and refreshing. This was partnered with Bloody Mary skewers, which were skewers of chicken, tomato, peppers, celery, onions and mushrooms on top of a Bloody Mary sauce. These were delicious with just the right amount of spice and a nice chilli kick. We then moved onto a Vodka tasting. We tasted several vodkas, everything from disgusting Glenn’s vodka to the artisanal Vestal vodka. We were given a plate containing pickled herring, orange, marshmallow, ginger and coffee beans as well as a set of headphones and experimented with how music, mood, attitude, smell and taste affect how the vodka tastes and how our perception of it changes. This was so fun! I laughed a lot! We were then given an Aperol Alcopop — vodka, Aperol, soda and orange. I found this very bland, so was a bit disappointed. Thankfully, the vodka belt tapas more than made up for it. We were given small dishes of foods hailing from Eastern European countries such as Poland and Russia, featuring smoked sausage, perogis, pickled beetroot and various filled dumplings. All of the dishes were delicious. For dessert we had chocolate cake with icing to die for, the cake was just the right texture too. Its accompanying cocktail of vodka, Galliano, orange and cherry was gross. Thankfully we only had to drink a yoghurt cup of it. We were each gifted a takeaway cup of espresso martini as well as a cute little box of Smith & Sinclair sweets to take away. The sweets were cocktail pastilles — Rhuby Mule and Long Island High Tea flavour. These were gorgeous! I had the best time here, one of the most fun and laughter filled evenings I’ve had in a long time. Needless to say, I was quite drunk when I left! I’m interested to come back here and try out some of the pop ups. This is a great little place for groups.

After just getting back from a trip across the pond, I wanted to make it my mission to review this lovely shop that I frequented while on vacation. It was directly attached to the apartment hotel we were staying in so we went in several times during our stay. The food was so fresh and flavorful. I tried their pasta and kale salad which was so simple and yet so delicious. Clearly the ingredients are a nice quality that can easily stand their own. I’ve also had a few of their homemade muffins which were delicious, and light. My mom had a chicken that came with a very delicious salad as well. The food just really makes it easy to enjoy fresh herbs and ingredients. In addition to their food, the customer service just really stood out to me. My mom described it as «they treat you like they’re your friends». The staff was just so very friendly and welcoming each time we came in, which created a really warm atmosphere. With free wifi and large windows for people gazing, it’s a place that I hope really goes the distance!
