My husband and I enjoy dining at Preto! They have a great selection of warm and cold dishes to accompany the many meats. The salad bar area is kept clean and the staff does a pretty good job of replenishing it. When our cards were green, the staff were very attentive at bringing different kinds of meats for us to enjoy. When the cards were red, they made sure to refill drinks and check on us. I’d recommend the sangria ! It’s very yummy, but be warned, if you sit outside, the bees will hover around you and your sweet drink! The seating area outside can get a little cramped and hard to squeeze through. We will be dining here again in the future!

Wonderful service. The full grill allows you to have as much of the salad and sides bar as you like. Up to 15 different meats are constantly offered to you at your table; steak, pork, sausage, chicken etc. There were also some lovely desserts but we were far too full! 2 for 1 beers as well.

If you like meat and have a bottomless stomach, then this is the place to go. Great selection of meats constantly brought out to you with a nice side salad bar to top it off. I would recommend for large group, birthdays etc

This was a good Brazilian steakhouse. Plenty of cold and warm dishes on the buffet, and the meat selections were well seasoned and tender. Most of the beef selections were rare to medium rare, although there were a few exceptions. Our teenaged kids loved it too! Service was friendly and efficient… we were in and out in less than 45 mins!

My children(12&15) and I ate here one night after we tried to go back to The Queen’s Arms but couldn’t because they had a private function… worked out just fine, though! This was my first time eating Brazilian Steakhouse, but I was familiar with the concept. I knew that my kids would love the«meat on a stick» and they surely did! There are also many choices on the buffet, and my older son really enjoyed the black beans and rice with the braised pork. Mind, he’s not an adventurous eater and doesn’t like his food to touch, so this bears mentioning! My caipirinha was delicious, also. There are many varieties of meat(even chicken hearts… if that’s your thing), and we enjoyed them all — except the hearts… we gave those a pass. It’s a simple system of red and green cards, and the servers were very attentive. Nice evening, overall.

We had to find a good place for a leaving do for a friend from work, and if I had to choose any two things he likes the most, I would say eating lots, and eating meat. Where better to go, in that case, than an all you can eat Brazilian meaty BBQ?! We had an excellent time here, as usual. The atmosphere is nice, the street is quiet, given the location, and therefore it is always possible to get a table and not struggle to get up and serve yourself from the buffet(traditional things like rice and stews, crowd pleasers like chips and lasagne). We had an excellent time trying all sorts of meat, which are brought to you table on skewers, including ribs, chicken hearts, garlic steak, ham, special spicy sausages and sirloin steak — all of which are delicious apart from the hearts! We also get to take our time — our sitting lasted from 6pm — 9pm, but we stayed at our table until 9:30. The cocktails are also great, with exotic fruits like kiwi and acai added in if you like. It’s £15 for buffet only(pointless, maybe could if you’re a veggie who’s been forced into going) or £20 for the full whack(inc skewers). With service and drinks at £4−8 each depending on what you choose, it can get really pricey. Compared to other, cheaper Rodizio grills however(like the independent one on Hackney road), this is good value for money, as they bring skewers round much more frequently, and the food seems to be of a better quality. It could be that they’re busier too, as the buffet seems fresher.

I’ve eaten at numerous churrascurias over the years in places like Las Vegas, Chicago, Florida, and a couple in London. The ones in London continue to disappoint. I went with a large-ish group(10 – 11) on a busy Saturday night for a birthday. In talking to my friend who made the reservation, it is clear that they intended to do two seatings: one at 7:00 and one at 9:00. So, while they honoured our reservation for 7:30, they were itching to get us out of there starting around 9:00. They should have made that a lot clearer, both on the phone and when they seated us. Service was poor. Everything we got we had to ask for by flagging down a waitress. No one proactively checked on us at all. We weren’t cheap. We were ordering bottles of wine and we had to wave someone down to get them. They never offered us desserts – an easy way to make another 50 off the table. Instead they mainly pestered us about leaving. I think the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. No tablecloths. Simple, basic furniture. It is more like an American buffet in terms of atmosphere. As a vegetarian, I usually look to these Brazilian barbecues as a place where I’ll get plenty to eat and my carnivorous friends can gorge on flesh. The meats, frankly, looked quite appetising and my meat-eating friends seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. The buffet here is not worth the £15 they ask for it. Fried cheese, french fries, and some salad. They had cheese bread puffs like I’ve had at other places, but on this buffet they were COLD. They’re supposed to be soft and warm and melt in your mouth. The one entrée-like item on the buffet that was vegetarian was an uninspired fried rice. They should charge £5 extra for the buffet, not £5 extra for the meat. I was sat on the end of a long table, right where the buffet line begins. That’s a poor choice. Between me and the servers going back and forth to the kitchen and the people queueing for the buffet, there simply was not enough room. I was bumped constantly. There was something going on in the kitchen that made it sound like the chef was taking tuba lessons. Loud plumbing? I don’t know, but it was loud, frequent, and unpleasant. The gauchos offering meat were very curt. They pretty much announced what was on the skewer and stood there a second. Our waitresses weren’t much better. In all it did not make me want to go back. My search for a Brazilian barbecue in London continues.

After the confusion of our reservations were settled and we managed to get a table for 13, things started to look up. This restaurant is as much about the dining experience as it is about the food. I love the fact that the servers come to every table and offer their«meat wares», which are large skewers of meat loveliness varying from chicken, beef, pork, lamb and more. The food is amazing and if I could have eaten more and managed to walk afterwards, I would have. I think my cholesterol levels increased that night, but damn, it was worth it. A must try restaurant, especially if you love your meat.

What can I say, Brazilian Rodizio is already a wonderful creation, but having that outside Brazil and in the center of London is a must! The food was delicious, very Brazilian. An extensive salad bar, full of choices, chances are you might fill up your plate here too soon and will not have enough space for the meat! So be aware!!! About the drinks, I suggest the most traditional Brazilian soft drink, Guaraná and for those looking forward to some alcoholic beverage, go for Caipirinha. Last but not least, I must mention the staff, here you will be able to experience the world-famous-Brazilian-customer-service. Very professional and friendly. It is the cherry on the top of this tasty experience ;)

We were looking for an Indian restaurant and there was not a good looking one on this street so we went for Brazilian. The place is small but we were seated right away(it was still early). It is 15 pounds for just the salad bar and 20 for the salad bar and meat. Of course we had meat! The salad bar had some interesting choices. I absolutely LOVED the lasagne. It’s different than American lasagne, so amazing! The salads were not my favorite. The rice was really good. And then the meat started. We tried almost every kind. It was delicious and hot and the servers were pretty friendly. I would go back.

Good food, lack of atmosphere. If you go for the meet you can eat as much as you like, and it is very recommended not to eat too much of the buffet, because the focus is on meat of course. Be patient as the best pieces are coming only from time to time. Overall very recommendable but not too cheap but if you wait for the finest cuts it is worth the price(20, — excl drinks)

If you’ve never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, then you will probably fall in love with the amazing salad bar and wide selection of tasty meats. But compared to a few that I have been to in the US, this one definitely falls short. The meat was overcooked in a lot of cases and the service was lacking. The US versions just set the bar so high in my opinion. The one thing I did truly fall in love with was the sweet potato casserole that was part of the salad bar.

I thought long and hard about this rating, and if I could give a three and a half I would. This place is really great. Just not 4 star great. A Brazilian classmate brought us here and explained that it is a massively popular style of eating in Brazil, this buffet style. They give you a little card that says ‘yes’ on one side and ‘no’ on the other, the waiters come to your table every minute or so with a different kind of meat on a giant skewer and you say ‘yes’ or ‘no’. There were about 20 different kinds of meat on offer. You can also attack the buffet bar where there is everything from fried bananas, pork scratchings, to regular salads. Where this place is lacking is in its drinks section. We were ordering caipirinha’s but for £7.90 for a large cocktail, they left a lot to be desired, too much ice, too little Cachaça. What makes this place fun, is saying no to the food for a while, chatting and then eating again. It makes an entire evening and event out of it, which with a group of friends is incredibly enjoyable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and mostly Brazilian, which gives a lovely authentic feel to the place/ I would go again, purely because I love CHOICE and in this place you can have all the choice in one meal. Its definitely worth a look for a real Brazilian experience

No matter how hard I think about it, I just can’t force myself to really recommend Rodizio Preto to you. It’s trying so hard(and succeeding) on so many levels, but the whole just didn’t quite work. I knew it was too good to be true when, scanning around for somewhere to take the Radio Star for a(very) belated Christmas dinner, I came cross Victoria’s very own all you can eat Brazilian meat buffet… so many reasons why that sentence should make sense. The restaurant themes itself as a Churrascaria, a Brazilian BBQ restaurant. After filling your plate with hot and cold Brazilian starters and sides(don’t get too much. seriously) you sit back and wait for the Passadores to arrive. Translating essentially as meat waiters, they bring large skewers to your table, carving off hunks of animal to order. It’s a modern but undistinguished Latin American café style place focussed around that large buffet counter. Think 3* hotel breakfast room in the Algarve with canned Portuguese pop pumping out of the TV on the wall and you won’t go far wrong. But you’re not here for the look, you’re here for the meaty experience. Friendly staff give you a card to place on your table that you swivel between ‘Sin’ and ‘Nao’ depending on your need for meat. They ignore it mostly, piling delectable cut on top of cut. Feel free to turn them down early on, I looked away from my plate for a second and returned to 4 or 5 lumps of cow. It’s a marathon, not a sprint… The skewers work, really well in the main, though miss hits come with a chicken sausage, too doughy for all of us, and a too tough fillet steak wrapped in bacon(what? Why!?). Other than that, chicken thigh takes the cooking process well, caramelised, crackling skin protecting the tender flesh, but as you’d expect, the real highlights are the slivers of steak, three or four different cuts or twists, served mainly rare and oozing with taste. The umami notes in the charred edges of the steak are heady and superbly flavoursome, tastebombs in your mouth to be savoured. Pork loin is another winner, unctuous porky fat delivering a whallop of taste. I’d recommend taking a thick piece of the beef shoulder too. It’s a fatty cut, but takes to the churrasco grill superbly, fat rendering into moist flavour. The salad bar disappointed a little. It’s ‘traditional’, if you use traditional as a euphemism for cheaply prepared, fairly bland food you don’t recognise. Hot sides consisted of rock solid cheese ‘puffs’, insipid and tasteless polenta cubes, onion rings and little breaded torpedos of deepfried plantain. The cold options were either mayonnaise based cubed veg, rice, or selections of random veg. As I say, keep it tight and leave room for the cow. Have a salad for lunch if you’re worried about the state of your waistline.

Don’t go to London very often, so I will probably not go back next time. The meat was hit or miss. Most was excelent but others were just ok. No worries though because you could always just wait 30 seconds for another skewer to go by!

Possibly the most convincing attempt at a Churrascaria I’ve yet to come across in London, with both the food quality and price hitting the mark. Less sure about service and ambience though, but will still go back sometime to reconsider …

Normally I wouldn’t give one star unless the restaurant had gone out of it’s way to aggrivate me. However our waiter had previously worked at a Fogo de Chao in the States and he commented, upon learning it was one of our favorites back home, «Fogo is 4 or 5 stars, this is a half star… or maybe one star.» This coming from the waiter! This place is ok but if you know of another such place try there instead. Too little choice.

it’s what seems to becoming increasingly popular, brazillian style eating in London(where did they all pop up from?). this one is ok, generous servings average price but not all consistent quality meats and the salads are nothing to talk about…

Opened in November 2008, this Pimlico rodizio has 20 grilled meats to choose from, along with a traditional-style buffet. Eat as much as you like for £19.95. In the past the Gauchos(vaqueros of the South Brazilian Rio Grande region) would ride on their horses and wagons to go along with their huge herds for lengthy distances. Throughout theses trips they would stop to rest and to unwind. At this time, all the vaqueros would get together around a bonfire. Then, these fearless men would kill an animal and while some played the guitar, others would prepare the meats by placing them on spits. Once they were well grilled on the outside, the meats were cut in thin slices and then served, this way each one could eat a piece of each type of meat. Nowadays, this is what it’s like at Preto. We decided to vist Preto for lunch when Rob visited when he was on leave. I was intrigued by Maureen and Robs(My Nephew) description of it from a previous visit. It was a nice warm sunny day and they had a nice area set with tables outside so we decided to sit there. The salad area was pretty good, though not really the point of such a place. The meat is where it’s at, and if you are a meat lover then you will be in heaven. Everything that came over, from chicked wrapped in bacon, to the steak to the sausage was excellent. Succulent and obviously just off the grill. The selection of beers is very good and indeed the Brazillian beers are very good, the wines offerd were pretty decent. Atmosphere and décor were also good, and the price very good value for what you get. The temptation is evidently to eat oodles, but I became quickly meated out so the buffet bar is a very good reason to have a decent balance of steak with salad. Preto is meant for those who love grilled meats, white meats(pork, and chicken) or red meats(beef and lamb). These meats are subsequently marinated in lemon juice, garlic, onion and pepper, then grilled over hot coals and ultimately offered on spits, according to the Brazilian concept of rodízio. Rodízio At the restaurant Preto let yourself be taken by the aroma and taste of the food, you will be simply delighted. Amazing place ! Cannot recommend highly enough.

Astrud Gilberto, Samba, Caipirinhas, all this gifts that Brazil has given to the world, and now this newly opened restaurant on Pimlico. They serve proper Brazilian food in a modern and light atmosphere. They serve a buffet that has salads, cheese, beans, rice. They have meat on skewers that is passed to the tables by the waiter and they just keep coming until you flip a paper disc that on one side says«no more», I thought that was sweet. The food was really good.
