Meet the Business Owner
Byron K.
Business Owner
Byron grew up in and around LA and has travelled extensively in Europe, Japan, South East Asia and the Pacific regions. He worked as a chef and front-of-house at Shiro in Pasadena for nine years. In that time, he took the restaurant from No 46 on the Zagat list to No 1. Later he was head waiter at Nobu in New York before he came to London in 2009.
On arrival he hooked up with old friend Rupert Selby to create Off Broadway — a cocktail bar on Broadway Market in London’s East End. He went on to set up Dukes Brew & Cue nearby and the Beavertown Brewery. He opened Pond in August 2014 and is both owner and head chef. He’ll even pick guests up from Dalston Kingsland station if they get lost.
