As an American, I am compelled to warn my fellow American tourists: this is not, by any stretch of the imagination, pizza. With that out of the way, I will say that our waitress was absolutely wonderful and the service was terrific. The dough balls with the garlic dipping sauce were as delicious as we had anticipated. The restaurant was busy at the dinner hour before we caught a show in the West End and our waitress made sure that we got out of the restaurant in time for our show, encouraging us to get a second glass of wine because we had plenty of time. And she was right, so we did get the wine and arrived to the theatre’s door with time to spare. Thanks, nice waitress! Now, for the pizza issue… as Americans, we are accustomed to: — getting a pizza that is cut into 8 slices, not 4 –being served pizza, one slice at a time from a central pie pan, not served as 2 slices(one half of the pizza) on each plate with no pan in sight –never ordering a pizza with cold toppings such as lettuce or tuna –pizza that is smothered in cheese so that the toppings literally swim in the cheese –having toppings that cover the entire pizza, for example, a bacon pizza would be covered with bacon crumbles, say 6 clumps of bacon per square inch of pizza, not two slices of bacon artistically perched atop the pie Alas, no wonder we Americans are so fat. But we do enjoy our pizza, and Pizza Express is not pizza, as we know it, at all.

I had a very good dinner here last night! We were seated next to some loud football fans so when we asked for a new table, the waiter apologised and helped us move our stuff. When we were about to order food, the waiter had that little extra. It was a pleasure to be served by him. I customised my own pizza because I’m a bit picky and it turned out very well. My company had the lasagne and he was very happy about it, apparently the sauce reminded him of what he thinks heaven would taste like. Overall, a very nice pizza express.

No complaints about the service, atmosphere, or restaurant itself. I feel bad to say this, but the food tasted terrible to me. The pepperoni pizza was soggy and bland, despite the tenets of good pizza making scrawled on the walls above the kitchen area. The lasagna looked promising and appetizing but the taste literally reminded me of Chef Boyardee from a can(for those who grew up in the States). Maybe we ordered the wrong things.

It’s always nice to have a waitress that goes above and beyond — and that was certainly the case at this venue. As well as the pizza being amazing(as always at Pizza Express) we had great service. Firstly when the wine I ordered(Pinot Grigio Blush Frizante — highly recommend btw) wasn’t available, the waitress brought up the nearest alternatives(Prosecco and the Pinot Grigio Rosé) to choose from. While she was away getting the wines, not one, but two other waitresses tried to take our order(some places you can’t even get the attention of one waitress let alone three!). Now I’m quite fussy with food and the waitress was very patient with my requests — always a bonus. I even managed to get green olives instead of black on my pizza. In regards to the food itself, I never have any complaints about Pizza Express — decently priced, amazing Dough Balls, delicious pizza and a good selection on their menu(food and drink). All in all, a wonderful evening with great service.

A good Pizza Express. Large space, pleasant ambiance, friendly staff, perfectly serviceable pizza, decent value. A safe play for a pizza meal in this part of town.

Ducked in here to escape the rain and really great that I did. The pizza was delicious. I had the pesto pizza and it was delicious although there was bit too much oil but was good nonetheless. I would highly recommend the pizza if you are a pizza lover

Came in here before going to see The Book of Mormon(had to drop that in!) last night. It was better than the average Pizza Express. It is light and large, and has a cavernous downstairs, so I wouldn’t think that they ever ran out of tables! What really made it for me was the service. Oddly enough they got our order wrong, but were so apologetic and sweet about it that it actually added to the experience. Unfortunately we were in a rush so couldn’t take advantage of their very kind offer of free coffees to make up for the issue, but the gesture was very much appreciated.

As you already know, I’m not a fan of the old chain restaurants but I feel this branch of P.Ex. as we endearingly call it, deserves a mention & grand old 4 stars. Now, probably like most people these days I refuse to eat in Pizza Express without a Taste card or a voucher(& I do like a voucher!) but I have to admit if you don’t know where to go or have no other option or just fancy a decent meal; some wine and a place to chat, then this is the place to be. I can’t visit P.Ex. without partaking in a ‘Padana’, it’s simply delish! Everytime I’ve had something else, I’ve missed my favourite pizza and felt like I was almost being unfaithful to my first love in pizza. You can also have(believe it or not) tasty and filling salads(recommend the Pollo); delightful little doughballs and scrumptious desserts too — and then feel like you need to be rolled out! Ah well, the diet(always) starts tomorrow. This branch is always busy with quick service but on a couple of occasions it’s been a bit rude. Located on Panton Street which is just off the Haymarket and Leicester Square, it’s in a very Central location, what more could you ask for?!

We ate here twice during our stay in London, and both times the pizza was wonderful! The first time I had the chicken pizza and the second time I had the veggie pizza and I can honestly say the only thing missing was a side of Ranch dressing(seriously try it with pizza, you’ll love it). You can see your pizza being made and the guys making it were singing and laughing and having a wonderful time so it just added to the atmosphere. It was great and I would definitely eat here again. Too bad they’re not in Canada yet

It seems like there’s a Pizza Express on every street corner, but this one’s my favourite. The menu is the standard stuff, but it’s always very high quality, the service is excellent and like all Pizza Exprress there is a good range of wines. The reason I like this one the best is because I can always get a table by the window, and just relax with my friends and my food and watch the world go by outside. Especially good for a Saturday night.
