Pilates is an intelligent and holistic form of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates which emphasises the balanced development of the body through strength, flexibility and awareness in order to support efficient and graceful movement.

Pilates has long been recommended as one of the safest forms of exercise by physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors and doctors and it is beneficial for nearly everybody, regardless of age, body shape and fitness level. The reason Pilates is so successful is that each exercise can be modified to suit the needs of the individual.
