Piccadilly Theatre

We saw the Jersey Boy’s in London; crazy right? Any ways, it was a fun show with some great highlights! I will start by saying the lead singer has an incredible high voice. I liked the actor who played Tommy and Frankie, but struggled with the actor who played Nick. Nick, you need to work on the New Jersey accent and you need to put a little more energy into the part. Bobby was solid as was the musical as a whole. A great venue with some great seats for the day of the show. We were sat in the Royal section third row center first balcony; awesome seats for the money. Premium seats, but at half price the day of the show.

It was an interesting experience going all the way to London to watch a play about four men from Jersey in the music business ;-), but this is about the venue and not necessarily the show (which for the record was also good once you cant get past the odd Jersey accents). The theatre is small and in a convenient location in Piccadilly Circus. I was able to get there no problem walking from my hotel in Trafalgar Sqaure. You really can’t have a bad seat in this theatre and my stall seat was perfect. I has a great view of the stage. They have a well organized concessions system where you can order food from your seat through an app or just wave your menu in the air and an attendant comes, takes your order, and then delivers it to your seat within minutes. I’d definitely go back to see a show in this theatre.

Tout comme l’indique son nom, ce théâtre se trouve non loin de Piccadilly Circus, l’une des plus fameuses places de Londres. Construit en 1928, c’est l’un des plus grands édifices de son genre que l’on peut trouver dans la ville.
La salle est édifié en trois niveaux allant de haut en bas avec respectivement «Grand Circle», «Royal Circle» et «Stalls», ce dernier représentant les places aux plus proche de la scèné. A noter que chaque siège disposent d’un petit récipient ou l’on peut insérer une pièce afin de se procurer des jumelles de théâtre.
De nombreuses spectacles se sont succédé à l’affiche notamment «Un Tramway Nommée Désir» ou plus traditionnel de l’opéra comme «Le Lac Des Cygnes» et avec parfois la présence de stars du cinéma tel que Henri Fonda.
J’ai eu la chance de voir l’adaptation de «Guys And Dolls» avec comme rôle principal Ewan McGregor, tout aussi talentueux comme comédien qu’en tant que chanteur. Un souvenir impérissable.

On a été voir Dirty dancing, vraiment bien ! Les sièges était confortable, et le personnel sympa, et la comédie génial ! On a passé un super moment. Même au dernier moment, il restait des places, à savoir !

Saw «Ghost the Musical» here and it was a fantastic show, in a very intimate venue. Seating layout outstanding and now rate this venue as my favourite theatre in London.

A recent meeting with a group of friends at this location proved to become a fabulous night indeed! Come here during HAPPY HOUR and you will find yourself with some extremely strong drinks (oh yes, Guinness included) for less than a bought sandwich.
Clientele: Ages ranged from 20 to the odd 50 year old, but don’t let this deter you. The vast majority were young and hip (except for the odd drunk girl in pure shirt and knickers) and dancing the night away.
Venue: The place was massive. I heard rumours of angels in one room but quite frankly was having such a good time in our own Damien Hurst themed skull room that I did not venture out. As far as I know the entire place has gotten a facelift, and as far as I am concerned they did a fabulous job at it.
A great place for a birthday seeing as the venue gave us beautifully decorated cupcakes, nibbles and were constantly refilling a life sized hat with a sweet alcoholic concoction.

I appreciated the layout of this theatre but unfortunately saw the superbly awful «Major Barbara» here. Next time I’ll be a little more picky with my entertainment selection.
