History

Established in 1998.

The Clinic was established by Practice principal Helen Skehan to initially serve the needs of people living and working in and around Islington, however as the clinic has grown it receives clients from all over London and the UK. It is situated less than 5 minutes walk from the Angel. There is a second clinic near Highbury.

The business has grown organically over the years to 8 therapists and full-​time administration support available today. Physiotherapists are chosen for their post-​graduate education and experience in the field of musculo-​skeletal health and many have been with the clinic for a considerable number of years.

Most of our clients come from word-​of-​mouth recommendations, and GP or Consultant referrals. We also accept self-​referrals and insurance-​funded clients.

We liaise closely with referring doctors to keep them informed of clients’ progress and we also have an extensive network of trusted medical professionals that we can recommend and refer on to where necessary.

Meet the Business Owner

Helen S.

Business Owner

Helen qualified as a physiotherapist from Trinity College Dublin in 1988 and has since worked extensively in both the NHS and in Private Practice. She completed her MSc in Musculo-​skeletal physiotherapy in University College London in 1993 and worked for a number of years in busy multidisciplinary City Clinics before establishing Physio Solutions in 1998.

She chose Islington as a location as she had lived in the area for 9 years and regularly saw clients in the City that bemoaned the lack of a physiotherapy clinic near Angel.

Helen is passionate about keeping up-​to-​date with the latest evidence-​based healthcare and attends many courses, conferences and health-​related lectures.

As the clinic has grown she has found a new role in hiring and retaining top-​level physiotherapists and administration support to continue to deliver to the high standards her clients and referring doctors have come to expect.
