This place is an oasis in an East London desert devoid of high quality yet affordable pet shops. Hidden on a residential street, it’s a tiny one-​room shop with a super friendly owner and – two days a week – her dog. They sell both cat and dog accessories, and everything is reasonably priced. You won’t be paying 35 pounds for a collar here. I bought an organic cat nip toy for about 4 pounds, which is a great price.

Paws & Purrs is as adorable as it’s name makes it seem.
This tiny Stoke Newington shop, which is insanely tucked away down a side street (and until I was right in front of the door, I didn’t even know if I was in the right place) is a small store for your dog and cat needs: food and collars and toys and whatnot.
But I can’t stress this enough, it is tiny. A one room shop packed with things. Don’t come looking for a specific brand of item, you’re probably not going to find it. But if you need something general for your furry friend, this is the place.
And the staff is insanely nice. Like, maybe the nicest people I’ve ever met working in any shop in London. Plus, they like my dog, which is a plus.
I brought my puppy here for grooming, and they did an EXCELLENT job. I can’t stress that enough. They did everything I wanted and at the end, she looked and smelled great. They’re also very reasonable. I have a big dog and paid £45 for her, which included bathing and grooming and all the niceties. Amazing.
However, the only reason they don’t get the full five stars for awesomeness is that booking this dog appointment was a giant miserable adventure. I tried to call over Christmas and they said they weren’t doing any until the new year and they would call me back. No worries. Alas, they did not. And when I tried to ring them, they seemed to always be closed or never pick up. I had to call three times over two weeks before I could finally speak to someone when I was told, there were zero appointments. None, like, at all, in any of the foreseeable future. Really? Ok. But then they called me back about an hour later and said that was wrong and there were appointments. Yay!
And as I said, they did a great job and as soon as she was done, I made another appointment. So go in with the mentality that they are a small, small, small buisnesses and everything will be great.

I particularly love the biscuit jewellery.
Definately will go back and visit again
