Not a bad club I had an enjoyable evening here, The drinks where reasonable– for london! Overall I would recommend this place if your out with the girls and up for a laugh and want to enjoy a mix of music that you can really dance too.

Simply awful. Any place that markets itself as a place for celebrities to hide from the paps clearly doesn’t have any actual celebrities to speak of, or at least none above the D-list. That wouldn’t matter though if the place wasn’t claustrophobic and generally filled with out of towners trying to have a big night out. My friend and I literally ended up fleeing for the door(which took a while to find) half an hour after we entered. Worth going if you’re the name dropper type, but otherwise give it a miss

Crazy random things happen to me… they just do… they fall in my lap — I can’t help it. My night at Paper was like that. A friend of a friend, who happened to be some heiress of some major household brand, had booked a table here — and I got the call to head on over with another friend. When my friend and I got there, we approached the clipboard lady and told her we were on the guest list. «Guest of whom?» «Household brand heiress,» we replied. Her eyes opened wide. «Oh, follow me then…» And off we went through some back private entrance, where we were escorted to our own private room off the main dance floor, and finally made the acquaintance of our heiress host for the evening. The décor of this place is pretty cool… «paper» refers to the magazine pages that have been plastered to the wall. And the music definitely has a hip-hop thing going on(perhaps the«gangsta» aspect explains a bit more about the high security mentioned by the other reviewers…). All said, it was a really fun night for us, but then again, we were rocking out atop the chairs and tables in our own room with an endless supply of Grey Goose on-tap… how could it have been anything but?

I went to Paper because my sister’s boyfriend sometimes plays bass there on the weekends. It’s a nice club, though admittedly the process of having to get into it is a little militant. We were made to wait outside despite there being no queue, and then be searched and have our handbags looked through before being led to the side where you descend down some stairs and doors into the club. Upon entering, the first room is really small considering the hype(all sorts of celebs have been seen here from P Diddy(is he still called that even?!) to Keira Knightley and so forth). There was a separate room, which we were not allowed to go in just yet, it was like they were holding back things because the whole evening was a lot ‘revelations’ and ‘surprises’ and when we were allowed, because it was a week night and they didn’t have enough people to fill the separate room, all the tables were reserved and we ended up just leaning against the DJ’s podium as there was nowhere else to really stand. The main attraction of Paper is that it has a specially built corridor for celebrities to exit so they can escape the paparazzi when they understandably get blinding drunk and let go a little, and they can hide out in the VIP room without normal folk gawping at them and pointing because the glass is one-way. This may be all very well as a celebrity, but as a normal person, it’s not so great as it makes you feel like you’re just a pleb mingling in the courtyard rather than actually in the castle. I’m not a fan of any place that encourages elitism, so despite the place being quite nice although the toilets are tiny and seriously… there is no excuse if it’s a relatively new-ish club, it is not worth the hype, the money, or the overpriced drinks nor the chance to spot a celebrity, which I reckon is why most people go there.

Trying to live up to a reputation for being seriously swanky, Paper was somewhat of a disappointment. The line was huge, which usually has me turning on my heels straight away. In fact the only reason I kept going was because I was on the guest list, and knew I was not getting in the queue. Security here is tight, airport tight, so arrive prepared with some form of identification. You will also go through a metal detector and have your bag checked on the way in. I am told this is common these days, but obviously I am not going to the right places. The club itself plays reasonable dance music, the VIP area had a different sound system going the night I was there, which may or may not be standard practice. Drinks are extortionate, but it is rare to find reasonably priced drinks in any of London’s clubs. The VIP area is great, if you can gain access, lots of space and a much more laid back atmosphere than the main areas. I would not say I am a fan, but Paper is probably worth a visit if you into that sort of thing.

Paper reminds me of Penthouse which is about a 3 minute walk from Club Paper in Leicester Square. This club is wat I would call a sexy club. Seductive decoration and a beautiful crowd. Drinks at Paper were normally expensive, however ordering a bottle to share with your friends is much better. The treatment given when ordering a bottle is at top class. I felt like a movie star with my bottle: D. People genuinely have a good time at Paper, the music is very mixed, there is something for everyone. The do has real skills, I don’t believe anyone one elsa can play 50Cent followed by Nirvana and actually make it sound good. Pro’s: Fun crowd, VIP feeling, Posh but still down to earth. Con’s: Too HOT, small bathrooms, confusing orientation

A lot of people find that Paper is not their favourite club but funnily enough a load of girls from Manchester disagreed. The true happy-go-lucky party girls are from the north and a load came down and visited a few clubs only raving about this one. There is a good variety of music and it is not as pretentious as some of the London clubs can be. Relaxed atmosphere and drinks aren’t too badly priced in comparison to other clubs. It’s location is great if you want to start your night in Walk About.
