Over-priced for what it is. Food is OK, but nothing special.

If you do not like waiting more than half an hour for your food do NOT go Oscars. My one and only time there was so awful I do not think words can truly explain the terrible service we received. Oscars was previously another Mexican restaurant and I just assumed that the food and service would be a similar quality. How wrong I was! My boyfriend and I went there for dinner and he was really looking firward to the meal as Mexican is his favourite type of food. We were directed to the bar as our table was not ready, I did not mind as I was able to have a cocktail before dinner. The barman was so slow even though we were teh only ones at the bar. He continued speaking to his friend while he half heartedly made me cocktail. I put this down to bad luck and really looking forward to my meal. Ten minutes later we were seated and ordered– a fiesta combo for me and my boyfriend chose the steak el paso. We waited and waited for our food and were unable to catch anyone’s attention. We would have normally gone elsewhere but it was a Saturday night and we were going to the cinema nearby. Eventually I asked the waitress what had happened to our food and she said she would find out. She never returned and we asked someone else. About 30 minutes later our food arrived and we were so hungry we didn’t have the energy to make a huge fuss. The food looked good but one bite confirmed that my enchillada was cold and my boyfriend’s steak was extremely tough and drenched in barbeque sauce. We complained to our waitress who walked away, luckily the manager overheard the conversation and tried to diffuse the situation. He offered us a free bottle of wine and a discount. We still left the restaurant starving and shocked at our dining experience. I will never set foot in that place again!
