First … The Name Orange Beetle Came From?
I used to drive a very cool, head-turning 1976 1303S Volkswagen Beetle in bright 1976 VW Orange that was louder than a German tank!
The first time I thought about using the name Orange Beetle for my business was when a client rang me whom had been refered to me. He asked on the phone, «Are you the guy with the old Orange Beetle?» Yep that was me hence — the very memorable — Orange Beetle.

The Marketing Man Alan Forrest Smith Here’s the shortcut to whom I am. Today (the bit you need to know) I am a writer, published author, copywriter, story teller, short story writer, trainer, mentor, poet, philosopher, direct marketing consultant, copywriter and some would probably — a «total eccentric but brilliant copywriter» — If they say that I accept! I wrote my first sales copy maybe around 1985 for my hairdressing business. I can however recall writing adverts before then in the 1970s for musicians (kind-of) to join my Punk Band (I know please!!!) and of course started writing lyrics and poetry from around 1977. Which makes me in a lot of peoples eyes a bit of an old dog (but I’d rather say a wise and powerful Lion). Today I mainly specialize in strategy, words, direct mail, sales letters, sales messages, long sales copy, business turnaround consulting at premium rates.
