We were on the hunt for a kid friendly place with fish and chips, this was it! My husband enjoyed the best fish and chips he had ever had! The price was huge and tasted just caught, I hate fish and I loved it!!! I enjoyed a pasta dish and my son enjoyed a kids menu which is a nice surprise for this area which isn’t known to be kid friendly. Great meal!!!

If you want to get an authentic British breakfast, this is the spot. I ordered soldiers and soft boiled eggs. When the eggs came, they were hard boiled and the staff insisted that they have the chef make another batch. The second time around, they were perfect! I’ll be back the next time I’m in town.

I absolutely LOVED this place. We were trying to find somewhere to eat a late dinner in our sad, jet lagged state. Burgers sounded good(substantial but different from the 3 nights of fish’n’chips we’d just had) and homey to these Americans. The inside is small — tiny. There are simple wood tables with wood chairs throughout the dining room. We were the only party visiting, and the server had his own little table set up in the dining area to hang out while they weren’t busy. So cute. I opted for the Chicken Cajun burger, and he got the beef burger, medium. The food came out quick enough, taking just enough time to know that everything was probably fresh. The fries — oooooh, the hand cut fries. So delish. The beef burger did come out a bit medium well, but I had a bite and it was VERY good. The Chicken Cajun burger was an amazing chicken breast, butterflied, on a damn good bun. It came with jalapenos, red peppers, and sour cream. This California girl was was in heaven. I love Shepherds Market, and this is in a great little spot for people watching, right at one of the ends. Can’t wait to go back! Check their daily specials. Yum!

Very good restaurant with lots of choices in every category be it meat or veggie. A really nice spot to sit outside and eat in a relatively busy area. Excellent staff as well! I had the chicken sandwich and I thought it was terrific. My boyfriend had the fish and chips and he loved it.

We lunched outdoors at Old Express while staying in the Mayfair area and were quite happy with our meal. I ordered the chicken special, which was charbroiled and quite healthy, light and delicious. Hubs ordered a sandwich with grilled sardines and enjoyed his meal, fish-breath and all. We didn’t happen by again during our stay in the area but that was simply because of the sheer volume of places to try in the neighborhood!

Let’s just say this restaurant was pretty pretty good. We came back here twice while we were in London. It’s in the bustling little area of Shephards Market and I loved the area. The restaurant seems to be family owned and the food was very good. Solid food, the portion size was great, and we left feeling satisfied. Definitely worth checking this spot out if you’re in the nearby area.

Nice little café in pole position to watch the comings and goings in Shepherd Market, especially from the clump of outside tables. Inside a little cramped but OK. The breakfast was OK too, not wowy, acceptable coffee. A ‘traditional’ café. Trouble is, set it against the standards set by favourite places like Café Boheme and Mrs Merengos in Soho, you might question value for money — but it’s a different venue in a good position with reasonable food. Waitress service was friendly and attentive.
