At Nest you’ll find beautiful tools and materials for knitting, crocheting, felting and sewing, alongside a handpicked range of homewares, gifts and cards.

Whether you’re a maker yourself or want to support other makers, everything we source is chosen to celebrate the glory of handmade.

We also have a cosy snug where you can have a look through our books and ponder your next project, or gather for our knitting groups and social events. At the back of the shop we have plenty of space to spread out during courses.

History

Established in 2010.

Nest opened on 30 October 2010. We had a great opening day on Saturday 30 October so thank you to everyone who came to say hello.

Nest is run by Amy and Rose (daughter and mother) and our aim is help promote the revival of beautiful crafts. We stock something for every budget even though there’s no acrylic in sight :)

Nest has everything you need for knitting, crochet and felting plus a whole lot of lovely extras like buttons, beads and ribbons. We also have handmade gifts — perfect for presents.

Amy was taught to knit by Rose (her mum). They run the shop together and are looking forward to sharing ideas and tips with visitors!
