Ms. Cupcake is London’s first entirely vegan bakery. We are based in Brixton, South West London and open seven days per week.

Ms. Cupcake makes cupcakes, layer cakes, cookies, muffins, squares, milkshakes, savoury treats, sandwiches and much more. Everything we make is always 100% vegan and additionally we make products without wheat/gluten.

Our shop also sells cake decorating equipment and supplies such as cake boards, cake boxes, colourings and more.

Vegans, vegetarians, those that are lactose intolerant, or those keeping eggless diets will be delighted with the amount of chocolate bars, marshmallows, sweets, ‘ice-creams’ and grocery items we have on sale at the shop as well.

Established in 2010.

Ms. Cupcake started as a home business in 2010 and due to overwhelming demand the Ms. Cupcake shop opened in Brixton, London the following year.

Hello beautiful! I’m so glad that you found me!

I originally hail from Canada and moved to London in 1999. I began baking from home when I couldn’t find indulgent bakery goods for vegans and I soon realised that it wasn’t just vegans that weren’t being catered for, it was also those allergic to different foods like eggs and dairy.

I launched London’s first entirely vegan bakery in Brixton in April 2011. My first book Ms. Cupcake: The Naughtiest Vegan Cakes in Town is out now and my follow up book is on its way.

I usually find vegan baked goods to be, erm, not good. But I’d heard good things about Ms Cupcake, and I was in Brixton so I thought why not?!
Obviously I went in to get a cupcake… and then I saw Nanaimo bars. My tunnel vision only had eyes for the Canadian goodness and all thoughts of a cupcake (pish. cupcake? naw!) were banished.
My bounty was quickly secreted into my handbag, as Nickie Doesn’t Share Food. But then Brian gave me a bite of his cookie (which was fine, but pish. cookie? naw!) so I cracked open my bar on the tube. Oh my days. So sweet, but so delicious. The bar is honestly enough for me to eat over 3 or 4 sittings as it’s rich and coconutty and chocolatey… I put it in the fridge to firm up and I prefer it cold.
So nice to have a Nanaimo bar without having to make a whole massive pan of them which I couldn’t possibly finish. Well played, Ms Cupcake. Well played.

Ahhhh Ms Cupcake! They definitely do what they say they do — amazing cupcakes! I went for a double chocolate cupcake because why the hell wouldn’t you?! It was a chocolate and white chocolate cupcake with melted chocolate centre and it truly was heavenly, I loved every mouthful and I could definitely have eaten another one for sure! The cake was soft and not overly sugary and honestly just cup cake perfection — one of the best I’ve had in London!
But I didn’t give it a 5 star because I also tried the cookie. The cookie was way too sugary for me but that is my view only, I think any sweet tooth lovey would LOVE it, it was just a little too much for me.
If you’re visiting here, get a cupcake for sure! The next one I’m going to try in the red velvet — I just love red velvet, NOM. I’ll be back soon: D

MY MUMMY IS A VEGAN!!!
No idea why I felt the need to shout that out loud but then again why did Kim kardashian have the need to put in huge butt implants? Life!
So mummy dearest is a vegan and when she can’t be bothered to bake her own we make the long trip to this joint! Its far but she assured me it was worth it… It kinda was! You really wouldn’t know they were vegan cupcakes! Its crazy!
The cake is moist and the flavours are tasty! I almost and I mean ALMOST turned vegan that day but lobster and I have a complicated relationship and so I couldn’t say goodbye yet.
Only downside for me is that on a few occasions some of the cakes haven’t tasted fresh which is a shame! But overall I likeyyy!!!¡!!

Wowser! The first time I came was a few years ago and I opted for the Ferrero rocher cupcake. Now, I understood it was an vegan bakery, so I was kinda but apprehensive at first, as I do love my cream, but damnn this place could make me a convert! That Ferrero rocher cupcake!!! Wow. This is easily one of the best I’ve tried anywhere! It’s so rich and nutty. A total yum explosion!
If you’re in Brixton and in need of a sweet treat, look no further!

Went down to have a nose around Ms Cupcake as part of #SecretBrixton. Located in Brixton near Coldhabour Lane in the indoor market it’s a short walk from Brixton underground station.
It’s quite a small store as are most of the establishments in this market. The staff are super friendly and most of all the cakes, cookies… practically everything for sale there looked professionally made and just delicious. I was very impressed to find out that this was 100% vegan bakery which also does gluten/wheat free goods, and is open 7 days a week. Unfortunately I had a bit of an upset stomach so didn’t buy anything but now that I know where they are I will definitely come back to sample some of their yummy looking cupcakes and add to my review.
My friend brought an oreo cookie which has an interesting flying saucer shape as they bake a whole oreo cookie into a much bigger cookie. It certainly looked soft and freshly made and my friend said it tasted really good too. I’m not into oreo’s but I definitely liked the look of the cupcakes.

I love Ms. Cupcake sooooo much!
I wish that Ms. Cupcake would move to the states as I’m sure that I alone could keep them in business. Great, friendly staff with even better cupcakes.
I love the ferrero rocher and the salted caramel, but all here are amazing.

I have not been here in three years, and the cupcake are still as good as remember them.
Although I admit I wish the icing and cake were equal in size, but it doesn’t bother too much because it makes them unique looking compared to your bog standard cupcake. Plus it’s cow milk free which is an absolute joy to my ears as well.
Ferrero rocher is still as creamy and nutty and chocolaty as I remeber. The cake could of been a little more moist, but with a tower of chocolate on top who care’s.
The owner has superb customer service, very friendly. The trip here from Herfordshire is always well worth it… just Brixton in itself is worth the trip down.

Oh Em Gee.
After reading all of the rave reviews I knew I had to make it a point to come to Ms. Cupcake and boy am I glad I did.
I have a pretty serious sweet tooth and I prefer to eat vegan anyway so I knew I was potentially going to be in trouble at this place. I got an ambassador cupcake, oreo cupcake, and chocolate chip cookie sandwich. The sandwich was tasty but I wish it had been a bit softer. The cupcakes on the other hand… wowza. The oreo cupcake was soft and delicious but the main event is that ambassador cupcake. Holy moley — do not miss the ambassador! There’s a reason this is their most popular cupcake — it’s incredible.
It’s going to be hard but I have to convince myself not to go back tomorrow. Or the next day. Or the day after that…

Scrumptious cupcakes, impeccable service quality! Don’t hesitate– EAT THE (Ms. Cup) CAKE!
From the U.S., I somewhat blindly ordered cupcakes for delivery to my boyfriend’s office as a birthday surprise. I received very prompt and friendly responses to all correspondence to fulfill my order. The delivery was made on time (and early in the time window I was provided), but most importantly, the cakes are beautiful and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend Ms. Cupcake to all, without hesitation. Will surely be popping by for tea and cakes when I’m in London in two weeks! Thank you for such a great experience!

Oh my goodness.
Now for some reason, vegan bakeries are always made to look a bit punky/alternative. I find this odd, given that for most people it is an ethical lifestyle choice rather than image, but oh well.
Ms. Cupcake can be excused. It undoubtedly makes the best vegan baked goods around.
When I went into their shop for the first time, I caught the smell of sweet cinnamon. Cinnamon cookies were in the oven, I was told. I had to stick around for 10 minutes to wait for them to cool.
I got a cookie, a speculoos cupcake and a club mate (it reminded me of my time in Berlin).
All were delicious. The speculoos cupcake had a surprise cinnamon-caramel filling and the cookie, which I reserved for breakfast the next day, was soft and not as sickly sweet as some other cookies on the market.
I wish Ms. Cupcake were closer… Or maybe I don’t, or this is where my pennies would disappear. I will be back though at some point, when they offer a carrot cupcake.

The cupcakes from this place look amazing … but I would not attempt to eat this on your own. not even one. I tried it and I was unsuccessful. The cupcake part is fluffy and amazing, but the frosting is more like buttercream and just sooooooooo rich.

I LOVE MS. CUPCAKE!!!
Both my sister and I are and always have been allergic to dairy and eggs, and a friend of mine bought me the Ms Cupcake recipe book. We loved the recipes so much, that when we found out about the shop we had to go, and we were definitely not let down! The cupcakes and milkshakes are AMAZING, and coming from America, it’s difficult to find good vegan food (desserts in particular) in London, but this is so much more than good! I love knowing there’s somewhere I can go for a treat when I’m in town, and I’ll definitely be coming for the savoury lunch stuff now I am officially vegan! Also, Ms. Cupcake herself helped us with any baking issues we came across when baking from the book, which was great! I even got my 18^th birthday cake from here and all my non-vegan friends LOVED it! Worth every penny and every effort to get there, 100%

Ok, so first, I love dairy. Beside all other stuff I love lol but I really love dairy products;)
A friend took me to this place one day, they had amazingly looking cupcakes with delicious names and reeeeally nice staff who helped me out with choosing the right ones for me. I ate two at once, they were SO GOOD! And then he told me. Wait, what? VEGAN? Meaning no milk, no eggs, no cream? WHOAW! They were so good, that I didn’t even realise, until that moment, they were vegan! So I can honestly say, a dairy lover like me LOVED those vegan delights.
Price wise I think it’s average, £2.60 per cupcake, but it’s worth every penny;) They also have other vegan products, like chocolates, milkshakes or cakes.
Their location is brilliant, only few minutes away from Brixton Station AND… it’s open 7 days a week! Yay!

If you want to try the best vegan cupcakes EVER then you need to head over to Ms. Cupcakes!
It’s not the easiest shop to find, especially if you don’t know the area but it’s well worth a visit, whether you’re vegan or not. It’s within walking distance of the Tube station.
The cupcakes almost look too good to eat as they’re decorated so well and, unless you were told, you’d probably not even realise they’re vegan.
I would say the pricing is about average — it may seem expensive but you’re paying for the high quality of the cakes and decorations, and the prices would be similar in non-vegan cupcake shops.
For my most recent visit, I bought just one cupcake (salted caramel) but it took me almost ten minutes to decide which flavour to choose as there’s so much mouth-watering choice! We sat at the nice seating area outside, and were greeted my a friendly local cat :)
I think the biggest issue I had on this occasion was I seemed to run out of cake and was left with just icing but that was probably been due to my eating technique LOL!
I also bought a a red velvet cookie to eat ‘later’ but scoffed it within a couple of hours, the smell was just too tempting! I also bought a vegan ‘Wagon Wheel’ and vegan ‘M&Ms’ so you can satisfy your sweet tooth in multiple ways here. They also sell various tea and milkshakes and a few savoury items (like vegan pasties).

The shop feels a bit out of place in this neighborhood but it is easy to access from the market or the main road/station.
The cupcakes are delicious, the staff are friendly and they must be one of the few shops in London that makes gluten free & vegan cupcakes that don’t taste this good!
It also worth noting that they sell ingredients and vegan foods as well. Definitely try the ferrero rocher cupcake! highly recommended!

I feel like I only moved to Brixton to be near this shop…
Ughhh. Vegan cupcakes.
A small shop with easy access from the market or main street, this amazing shop not only has unbelievable yummy cupcakes, but also a lot of other ingredients and vegan foods like mayonnaise, baking products… etc
The cupcake selection is amazing but I went for the Ferrero Rocher one, The Ambassador, and oh boy, I was NOT disappointed. The icing and the texture of the spongy cupcake were perfect, and I actually cut it in half, since it is kind of a massive cupcake.
Fair prices and lovely staff, I would definitely recommend one of their treats after walking around the market :)

Ever since I heard the rave reviews about Ms Cupcake, I’ve always wanted to go and buy some, but with the shop being all the way in south london (I live in North West London). Always been reluctant to go that far just for cupcakes. So when I went to south london to meet some friends, I popped into Ms Cupcake and bought a dozen cupcakes. They were amazing. If I ever go back to South London, I will make the effort to go back and get some more cupcakes. Also picked up one of Ms Cupcakes Book — The Naughtiest Vegan Cakes in Town. Haven’t made any yet but will attempt to as soon as I get some time.

Awesome vegan cupcakes! You won’t miss the animal products at all.
I picked up a four different cupcakes. The Ambassador was definitely the best. Ferrero Roche goodness in every bite with a strong chocolatey flavour and a crunchy texture of nuts. The strawberry and cream also went down a treat. We liked the mint chocolate too!
The disappointment was the red velvet. It was definitely red but didn’t have any of the chocolate flavour red velvet should have. It could definitely do with a cocoa boost!

I’ve been meaning to visit Ms Cupcake for a long time now… but as a North Londoner it is really almost a day trip to go down to Brixton ;-)
I’d heard about this place many times and most recently I saw Ms Cupcake herself as a guest speaker at an independent business owner conference in Marylebone… and seeing her in person made me get out my diary and pencil in a trip to Brixton.
Having been invited for dinner at a friend’s house, I offered to bring dessert. There would be 5 of us, so I went for the 6-pack (sadly, the content itself is quite unsuited to develop a six-pack ;-) Ms Cupcake was there when I got there and with her cheerful voice she greeted me warmly. I asked her to pick a selection of cupcakes for me… she highly praised the ferrero cupcake and so I took two of those. Other flavours were carrot cake & strawberry, for example.
Later that night we all loved the cupcakes. And only afterwards did I share with my friends that these are vegan cupcakes. They were all surprised to learn that they’re totally dairy and egg-free…yet still taste very good.
Kudos for Ms Cupcake!

Es rieeeecht unglaublich guuuut!!! Yummi, Yummi Yummi! Ok, also wer auf der Suche nach «Liebe in Form von Schokolade» ist, sollte unbedingt hier her kommen. Die Cupcakes sind pure Lust in Runder Form.
Sowas von lecker. Alleine der Ambassador Cupcake lässt mir gerade Gänsehaut auf meinem Gaumen aufkommen. Die Chief Cupcake Madame ist so was von lustig noch dazu und die Mädels hinter der Theke sehen aus wie aus einem ‘50es movie. Die Musik lässt die Sonne scheinen an einem regnerischen Tag und das Gemüt ist glücklich gestimmt.
Die Diät kann man ja immer noch anfangen… hier hat sie auf jeden Fall mal eine Auzeit verdient. Großartig!
