I am a big fan of fancy dress events so for me this shop is prop heaven. While they are not huge in terms of getting a full costume if you are looking for hats, wigs, toy guns and other accessories to complete your outfit this is a brilliant place to look. It’s pretty great for people who want to get a few items to pair with their normal clothes and still look on point and the staff will do their best to help out. I knew exactly what I was looking for but while I was there several people came in with just the event theme and no idea what to do for it and the staff would pull things left and right, recommend items and potential costumes and make sure the customers were happy with the final outfit they would wear. Looking forward to more fancy dress events so I can go have another shop there for my accessories,

Walked in because they had advertised some Halloween costumes and the window dress by looked like the shop had potential.
However, they have very little in the form of costumes. Pretty much drug store variety of costumes, nothing special. They seem to be relying on their regular sales of wigs and masks rather than costumes

I happened to be picking up a few fancy dress items for this upcoming weekend’s escapades on a boat in the Amsterdam Pride festival on Oxford Street and wandered down Berwick en route to Chinatown for other errands when I stumbled upon Mix Max.
Since I was planning on going to a pop-​up beach party in London, I thought to myself, ‘Self, since there’s a giant lettering on the front that says «Fancy Dress Accessories», perhaps they’ll have some Hawaiian leis for the party!‘
I ducked inside the dim shop to discover a cluttered assortment of everything costume-​related. From bright feather boas to glittery masquerade masks. Though the shop itself is quite small, it’s chockablock with just a handful of each superfluous necessity.
I definitely would have never found anything without being directed by the friendly, somewhat flamboyant staff. I walked out with what I was looking for — though I will say that those leis didn’t come cheap. But can you really put a price on festivity? I think not.
