Depending on the time of day I arrive at Heathrow, traffic on the motorways can be horrendous. Sometimes it’s faster to ride the Underground and take the entire Picadilly line into town, other times it’s worth my money to take the Heathrow Express trains to Paddington station and then hop onto the Underground.
However, when I have lots of luggage from shopping and don’t want to lug my stuff onto overground and underground trains, up and down flights of stairs and escalators I book myself a mini-​cab with Millenium.
If I recall correctly it’s £25 to Heathrow airport from the Wandsworth Common-​Clapham Junction area — and considering the Heathrow Express train is £15 that’s not a bad rate. They charge £15 to drop you off at Paddington Station.
It’s £30 to get picked up from Heathrow because the driver has to park in the short-​term parking lot. The driver sends a text message to your mobile as soon they are there. They are courteous, professional and know their way around London traffic.
Allot the proper time to get to the airport based on what time of day your flight is. On a Saturday evening it took 40 minutes but on a busy weekday morning it can take upwards of 2 hours.
