It’s a fish and chip shop! So what? Well it stands out on a street that has tons of «British» food– cafes with all day breakfasts etc. by the fact that the prices are the same as they were when I was a kid! £3 for a small fish and chips and it was big enough for this lad. What’s more, they cooked it(quickly) to order and it tasted magnificent. Happened upon the place for a pre-match bite last night and will definitely be going back. Good old school chips and snappy if not overly friendly service. You can eat in or take away. Great value!

With a name like Michaels High Class Fish Bar you may expect something swanky. Do not be fooled though, it is a regular chip shop. Although for cheap English fare it is really nice. My usual purchase is sausage in batter and a chip bun for £1.80. That is pretty awesome student food in my view. The chips are cooked perfectly. They are not too greasy and melt in the mouth when you dress with the right amount of salt and vinegar. There is a little seating area in the back which normally holds a few Holloway locals. All in all if you are looking for real chips(not fries) you cannot find a better chippie in the area.
