Michael’s

What makes a convenience store good? They’re all much of a muchness. Magazines, newspapers, crisps, sweets, drinks, some basic food… that’s about it.
So, it’s got to be the little things that you look out for. One of the things I really like about Michaels is the fact that they don’t charge you for using a card. Great stuff when all you want is a bus pass in the morning. And it’s open early. Not sure how early, but It’s always been open when I’ve left the house.
It’s quite a big store for a local corner shop — so there is some choice when it comes to regular foodstuffs, and because it’s pretty big it isn’t one of those places that you’re afraid to turn around while wearing a backpack in case you demolish an entire shelf.
The staff are lovely, and thus far have never failed to call me Sir — even when I’m hungover, buying monster munch in shorts and a vest.
So, a very nice shop indeed.
