Great vegetarian food, at a very reasonable price. Food tastes like homemade. If your order «hot» it is very hot, so you have been warned! Lots of choice and the thalis are great value

I believe the word is yowsa. That should cover Meera’s Xpress in terms of spiciness — proper, cumulative heat — and in value. I’ve just polished off a lunchtime thali — a curry, aloo, three little parathas, a dumpling, daal and rice — at £2.99.
Yes. £2.99. I questioned it too, but that is, apparently, the deal. If the food was average I’d go back at that price. The food though is excellent and on a par with recent Indian meals that have cost 10 times as much.
I’ve often hit the place for snackage — excellent bhel puri and the like — and had planned the same today. Then I noticed six happy diners around a table, a long queue of elderly Asian gentlemen Hello, I thought, that’s a good sign. And it was. Stone me that was delicious.
The downside? I live all of five minutes walk away and I can eat there cheaper than I can at home. I’ll be on first name terms with ‘em within the week
