By Jove where do I start with this one? I mean McDonald’s is supposed to be known for its relaxed environment but ohhhhh no not this one!. I went with my sister for an early morning coffee and a greasy hash brown … There was a security guard there tapping his watch timing people and when he thought it time he kicked you out! When he finally got to us he was rude and dismissive. I demanded to see the manager and notify him that the security was taking it upon himself to throw out paying customers! He apologised but it ruined my morning! The security at this place have been known for such tatics so beware! Drink your coffee within 5 mins or dash out before you get thrown out

It’s like a bloody prison!!! I’ve never been to a McDonalds where there’s a security guard telling people how many minutes they have left to drink their coffee! That’s insane! The security guard was roaming around tapping his watch, approaching people with news of their impending eviction. This was at 8am… Bare in mind the place was practically empty. I had no issues with the food, but the treatment was appalling. I did complain and was apologised to by the manager. Still wouldn’t return.

Well, it’s a McDonalds. What is there to say? I went when the Big Tasty was back on the menu and if I’m honest, BECAUSE it was(despite it measuring a whopping 890 calories, did I really need to know that, Maccy?!) and it was good. Just the unhealthy uncultured stodge I was after at 11pm after walking through the rain. Next time, I’ll make more of an effort to try out an eatery nearby though. I left feeling guilty I’d succumbed, especially when the location is so awkward.

Okay, I’ll be the one to do it. I’ll admit that instead of trying out different independent cafes and eateries in Greenwich, I’ve not only recently frequented Starbucks and Subway, but I’ve also gone to Maccy D’s! I know, I know, gasp horror! My excuse? it was there, therefore I had cravings. But you know what? Greenwich is a student town. Greenwich is also expensive due to it being so touristy. McDonald’s offers fairly cheap, fast food which can be eaten quickly in those spare minutes before class and although I find it hard to not equate McDonald’s with mainly Big Macs, they do offer more of a variety of food than they used to and if you’re savvy enough to find out the calorific content of the various items on the menu, you can treat yourself now and then without feeling too guilty.

Located in Canning Town, on the barking road, it is a 5 minute walk to Canning town train station, that has links by the Jubilee and DLR lines, as well as a good supply of bus routes. It is pretty much a standard McDonalds. An average size with plenty of seating space. It is always clean and the staff are as friendly and helpful as all the others. The only thing that makes it different, is the area it is in. I would not advise you to go on your own in the night, as there is always a gang of people hanging around outside. There are sometimes fights outside aswell, so i think it can be quite intimidating to walk past the gang when going in or coming out of McDonalds. If you do want something to eat, and it is late, i would go to some of the chicken shops in the area, rather than go here.
