This is essentially an ode to my ongoing love affair with M&S. One of my first items of business whenever in the UK is to buy a bevy of items from this most wonderful place. Where else can you find a nicely lined fall coat, body scrub and canned mojitos on the same receipt?! And about those canned mojitos: They include two measures of white rum and are the perfect addition to your picnic pack or pregame. Then there’s all of the other amazing things like seasonal terrines, individually wrapped wensleydale cheeses, flapjacks, elderflower drinks, adorable mary janes and work blouses. Goodness me, I just love this place! Marks & Spencer is also home to a wonderful assortment of wine and the best luxury yogurts and ready meals among all of its competitors. Some of the locations, like the one nearby in Liverpool Station, are«on the go» style and don’t include the clothing and home & décor sections, but typically they have all of the other things I’m looking for. I can’t wait to get back!

What can I say? The more I complained, the more the staff made me feel I should just put up with whatever poor service they cared to dish out. If customers continue to visit this food hall, the staff will just carry on regardless. The best thing we can all do is vote with our feet. Having said that, the people they employ on the other floors seem perfectly normal. Some kind of social experiment? Postscript: Since then, I have made 3 phone calls to M&S head office. Each time I am promised a call from a manager, but no one ever gets back in touch Very disappointing behaviour from an organisation that supposedly prides itself on its customer service.

Great place for a lunchtime sandwich. The variety is good and always fresh. It’s convininiet for me when I am in London and usually pop down for a sandwich.

At this Marks & Spencer I made some important discoveries in the downstairs food hall. Namely: — Stick of gorgeous English cheddar cheese, 40p — Pack of sherbet lemons, 39p — Large vegetable samosa w. potato, cauliflower, spinach and peas, £1.25 This place caters obviously to the City suits who work in the vicinity — lots of single serving items and plenty of booze.

I worked in this area for 5 years and always bought my lunch here and had a peek around the apparel! I love M&S and love this particular location for the size of it. They do the best sandwiches«smoke ham cheese and pickle» my favourite. And their brand of crisps are low-fat and out of this world! They sell the best quality bras. Expensive, but worth it cause they last 8 years. Clothing is so-so, some years good, some bad. Depends on who they’re having design that year. Over all… I LOVE M&S!

A spacious store with most of the departments offered by m&s, howver, gets very busy at lunchtimes/when there’s a sale on. The layout of the store doesn’t seem ideal as there tends to be a lot of people traffic in some areas while none in another. An OK shopping experience for a lunch break but I’d say go to a proper shopping centre m&s for pleasure shopping!

A large branch of Marks and Sparks, with food hall downstairs(usual amazing range of salads) and 3 floors of clothes above. My favourite thing about this store is the huge lingerie section. They do massive ranges of bras for any purpose: sports, under t-shirt, nursing, maximiser or minimiser, or just looking nice. I always find what I need: not the cheapest, but good value for something that can last for years. They are also useful for public loos, though they do let the side down a bit halfway down the stairs and so tiny that the seat gets covered in water from the sink. And in spite of their being a disabled symbol along the sing pointing to the loos there’s no sign of a disabled loo: I think that sign is actually pointing to the disabled refuge area on the stairs
