Choux pastry is a light dough that rises in the oven, leaving the inside soft and hollow and the outside golden and crispy. A staple of every patisserie in France, choux pastry is a very malleable yet simple bakery base. In the hands of Joakim who brings a contemporary twist to a classic French speciality, it is transformed into something quite extraordinary.

As visually stunning as they are delicious, our handcrafted Eclairs, Choux and Chouquettes are baked on site in our state of the art kitchen. These veritable works of art make the perfect dessert, indulgent snack or gift. Some of our Choux can even be filled upon ordering for incomparable crispiness.

Maître Choux will also offer seating for a handful of customers. Here guests can accompany their pastry with a cup of the finest quality teas and coffee, as well as a thick hot chocolate made from a legendary Basque recipe provided by Joakim’s grandmother.

History

Established in 2015.

The brainchild of Joakim Prat (previously head pastry chef for Joel Robuchon in the UK and at The Greenhouse), we are a London pastry shop with a Three Michelin Star experienced Chef! Everyday, we strive to make the excellent and outdo our best. We hope to continue to do what we love for years to come!

Business Owner

Owner Joakim was inspired when he saw that the quality of food in London had skyrocketed, but saw that pastries had not kept pace. Seeing an opportunity, he established Maitre Choux in the heart of South Kensington to show London what she had been missing out on. Today, few things bring him as much satisfaction as the compliments of his satisfied customers.
