Mahal Restaurant

I’m visiting a friend in London. We were walking down Edgware Road taking in the sights and came across Mahal Restaurant. The menu looked good, and the lunch special was inviting, so we went inside.
The host/​waiter was on his cell phone but motioned us to sit down. His loud, obnoxious voice didn’t cease for the next 10 minutes, and finally we had to wave him down to get his attention — this including the fact that were were the only two people in the restaurant wasn’t a good start.
I asked him about the «BUSINESS LUNCH» offered outside, but before I could get the question out he said in a thick accent, «
Him: «you can’t have that today.»
Me: «Today is Monday, and the time is 12:30. The sign clearly says Mon-​Fri 12PM-​5PM».
Him: «No, you cannot have it today, tomorrow is okay.»
Now I’m flustered. We came in because of the sign. We might have still eaten there except for what happened next.
Me: «Why do you have the sign if it is not true?»
His classic reply: «That is just an advertisement to get people in side.»
— It works! Now all he has to do is deliver.
Me: «you can’t do that, we came in because of your advertisement.
— the best part is coming up
Him: «Who are you to tell me what I can do?»
Me: «I’m the customer that you lied to.»
Him: «what do you want to order?»
Me: «We’re leaving»
We put our coats and scarves back on, the guy went back to his cell phone.
Outside both of us took photos of his sign and advertisement.
He came running out, «What are you doing?»
Me: «We’re going to review this online.»
Him: «Come in. I’ll give you the special.»
Me: «hell no, you screwed up.»
That was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. I doubt the food is as good as «The best I’ve ever eaten, even in India», but even if it is, the service is bad enough to STAY AWAY!!!

Super lecker… Und sehr netter Service

I simply didnt like it. Not the food and not the service. Quite a disappoinment. It looks alright outside and inside.
