LSE Carr-​Saunders Hall offers single, double and twin rooms with shared bathroom facilities. A full English or vegetarian breakfast and 20% VAT are included in the rate. Carr-​Saunders offers communal TV room with games. Each floor also provides a kitchen area with microwave, toaster and kettle.

LSE Vacations is part of the Residential and Catering Services Division at the London School of Economics & Political Science. We open up our residences to the general public during the student vacation periods in spring, summer and winter. During our student term time, we occasionally have a small number of rooms available, so whenever you are travelling to London, it is worth checking with us for a central place to stay.

First, this is not a hotel but rather the dormitories of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and they’re only available (July — Sept) when school is not in session. Hands down, this is the best deal in central London for a private bathroom and shower (en suite), 80 pounds per night. I would definitely stay here again. The accommodations are humble but the facility is clean, quiet, safe and secure (24 hour security) with good hot water for showers. Also, your payment goes to support the school which is just great.
It’s in an excellent, excellent location. It’s adjacent to the Tate Modern Center, 1.5 blocks from the Shakespeare Globe, 2 blocks from the Millennium Pedestrian Bridge which goes over the River Thames to St. Paul’s Cathedral. We never had to use the Underground because all of our sightseeing was in «Old London» or «Westminster» and we just walked to these areas using the river walk. The nearest Underground is Southwark (Jubilee Line) 3 blocks away (okay maybe more, I can’t remember) or over the river Mansion House (District and Circle Line) or St. Paul’s Cathedral (Central Line).
Breakfast is included. It’s a cafeteria-​like setting with cafeteria-​like food. The toast is literally dripping in butter, ick! Even so, we ate here every morning and really enjoyed the vibrancy of the place. It’s busy and the TV’s are all airing the latest BBC news.
Cons:
They change the linens too much, sometimes every day. If I would return I’d see that they don’t come into the room at all.
You have to pay for WiFi, but there’s free Cloud WiFi that the City of London provides along the river walkway (look for signs posted).
