‘Music moves people so deeply.’ Listening to Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, the wailing pursue and ferocious rhythm is an emotional and immersive experience-pushing one’s boundaries… Compared with Avery Fisher Hall(Lincoln Centre) or Carnegie Hall where New York Philharmonic sits/used to, LSO has his down to earth personality. Despite its capacity of close to 2000 seats, I can often create dialogues with the pipes at the Barbican Hall. Whether appreciating Lang lang, Les Arts Florissants /William Christie or Mahler, it gives one lots of space to imagine and improvise. We can be part of the richness from the strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion instruments. Come join me for the rite!
