Brilliant pastries, cakes and breads. And despite being incredibly busy, the staff was super friendly and attentive. Their coffees are on the sweeter side, their desserts are really good(never had a bad dessert at LPQ) and they have really tasty chocolate spread! Definitely worth a visit if you love pastry and French treats.

Nice cozy place for breakfast, I would recommend the toasted chicken, and their omlete looked really good but I did not try it.

Ate lunch here on a July afternoon while on vacation in London. Found out it’s actually a worldwide chain, which is exciting because I loved the menu! Everything looks very healthy and fresh, and there is a variety of delicious sandwiches and salads. Hope to definitely explore more of these in the states now that I know they exist!

I wish I never had returned for breakfast. My fantasies of earlier breakfasts at PQ from earlier visits were tore down in a minute. I had forgotten. LPQ is not that bad besides it is very expensive and the breakfast menu is not for me, as I like eggdishes or goodies on my morning sandwich. But LPQ has the most amazing chocolate spread ever! Don’t forget to browse their shop after you are done with the coffee. They accept AMEX.

Everything here is NO. No, you can’t have French onion soup with your tartine. No, we don’t have any other soups with that. This is the quintessential TOURISTTRAP. avoid — avoid — avoid

Perfect for brunch or lunch! Real drench food, nice location and even on a busy Sunday you can relax outside. Been there this weekend and enjoyed discovering such a diamond of good food!

This place might have passable pastries, but the floor staff is disorganised, rude, and inefficient. I understand a server who is frustrated because there is a lack of cohesion on the serving team, but I came for breakfast, not to get snapped at for trying to get myself noticed after fifteen minutes of sitting around with a menu in my hand. I have swung by for pastries in the past, but they are not particularly memorable.

I really like this chain! They serve quality, delicious food at fairly reasonable prices. The only qualm I have with them is the portions. My 7 pound salad was pretty tiny and I definitely still felt I could eat more after dinner. I ordered the smoked salmon and roasted beet on rocket salad, which has a creamy(sour creamish) dressing. I asked for dressing on the side, which she appeared to note on the order, but when I opened the takeout box, there was a ton of dressing already on my salad. It was still good, but I just happen to like putting dressing on myself. This salad is pretty basic, with smoked salmon, roasted beets, rock leaves and 2 eggs. The salads come with bread on the side, and we got a slice of whole wheat sourdough and baguette. That definitely made the meal more filling. Overall, it’s a great place of convenient, fresh and tasty food in Covent Gardens. Next time, I want to try some of their pastries, especially the apple cinnamon muffin!

Before coming to London, I had never heard to Le Pain Quotidien, but over my semester here it has become one of my favorite spots. The service is always prompt at seating me and taking my order. The free wifi is an added bonus. This is the perfect place to either leisurely read a book over coffee or catch up with friends over their delicious food. Some of my favorite are the monthly frittata, the tomato and basil soup, and the chicken pot pie. Whether you come here simply for tea or for a full meal, you cannot leave without sampling one of their desserts. The banoffee pie is delicious and the chia seed pudding is sweetly refreshing. I will miss Le Pain Quotidien when I return to the US!

As you would expect of any LPQ menu is fantastic and full of many options ranging from bakery to breakfast to hot food. There is a full wine menu and countless tea and coffee choices all of which are wonderful. The pots of tea are on par value and the coffee was excellent. Service in excellent and food is fresh and tasty. Mostly French and Italian staff it’s a nice space and three level in size so get yourself a perched seat high amongst Covent garden.

if you need something french in your mouth you can easily find in Covent Garden, right in front of you and if you do not find a table just go upstairs.

I like all LPQs(as the cool kids call them ;-) but this is extra special — let me tell you why… It’s spacious. In Covent Garden it’s hard to get a table anywhere, but here it’s almost guaranteed. The loos are really nice. They’re clean and well maintained. Who am I kidding? The real reason that this place is so great is the French guy behind the counter downstairs. It’s like someone took a really buff guy, added a cute face, gorgeous floppy hair and then(because that in itself just wasn’t enough) gave him a French accent. Oh, and made him just a little bit flirty. «Well done» is all I can say.

This place is apparently an international chain, but who cares, I really really like it. It’s really spacious! Great ambience for dating, friends and even medium sized groups. It also opens late, if you are out shopping/dining late(it happens when you are around Covent Garden area), this is a great place to end your day. Staff were helpful and friendly, everything we ordered was delicious(especially the strawberry tart, fresh and not overly sweet), it’s a great spot for late night chat and people watching :). If you love coffee, tea, dessert and comfortable space, I’d definitely recommend it. Given that you are not against non-local cafes of course.

An international chain, but nonetheless a lovely place for an Americano and pain au chocolat while watching Covent Garden come alive on a sunny weekday morning. Would’ve stayed for a second cup of Joe if the server had asked!

I have been here many times but have only ordered two things: bottle(s) of house rose cheeseboard combined with the outdoor seating(glorious when the sun’s out), the hilarious people watching(hen parties, tourists and once even a gaggle of hipster art students who spent 30 minutes filming each other wringing their hands) and the ease of seating(most I’ve had to wait was 10 minutes)… this is the recipe for a marvelous weekend afternoon. Yes it’s a chain, yes it is in the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden, but my love still runs truuuue. All they really need are some board games. Drunken monopoly/the game of life/etc. would actually elevate this place to perfection.

This is THE spot for a sunny, spring afternoon. I spend way to much time at this little gem(at least once a week). I know it’s expensive and a chain but the location is perfect and I am hooked. They have a HUGE outdoor patio in the direct sunlight(or under umbrellas if you prefer), along with an amazing people watching view, ambient music by the Covent Garden street performers and FREEWIFI!!! And if that’s not enough, they have FILTER coffee by the pot and huge delicious salads, and great bread and the best cheesecake evah! .

Brilliant bread and tasty treats are to be found at lovely Le Pain. I love you Le Pain, but on the day I visited you your table service was unbearably slow, especially for a slowish Thursday… Next time I’m filling in time before an appointment I’m going to have to get a tea and a gingerbread TOGO! :(

I do like Le Pain, but tried to get in here on a Sunday afternoon and was told that they weren’t serving food, despite their website claiming something different. Quite odd?

My heart, I adore thee Le Pain Quotidien! This is one of a wonderful chain of bakery/cafes. First, the SETTING: this medium size café is nestled next to Drury Lane and shares a space with the Aveda Institute. And you can tell — there’s lots of beautiful haircutting type peoples walking around while you sip your latte. The tables are all rustic unfinished wood, which fits well with the French country theme of the place, and the floor to ceiling windows are great for people watching on busy Holborn — grab a seat at the window-side counter! The waitstaff is friendly, if less than 100% attentive — LPQ scores good marks here. On to the FOOD: When I come here for Breakfast I almost always order the porridge with bananas and stewed fruit. It has just the right amount of honey for sweetness and you can order it with regular or soya milk. Delicious! I can’t recommend the yogurt parfait — the granola is dry and unpleasant, to my taste. Skip it if, like me, you’re used to the kind of sweetened yogurt you get at the store. The soft boiled eggs are good, but realize when you order it that all you’re really getting is 1 or 2 eggs and some bread to dip in them. They have all the standard coffee drinks along with some nice teas, my favorite being the fruit infusion. All of these drinks are excellent, however. I usually get an Americano. For lunch I recommend the smoked turkey salad, which, while expensive and a bit saltyis absolutely gorgeous and delicious, with pine nuts, mixed leaves and herbs, croutons, grated parmesan, and of course that lovely turkey. The tartines, or open-faced sandwiches, are purportedly very tasty and they do look it, but I haven’t yet tried it. For dessert, there are the standard pastries, which are all quite nice — though the best ones tend to sell out before noon. The highlight, however, is the selection of delectable fruit tartes — strawberry, blueberry, mixed fruit. The berries are always perfectly sweet and ripe and the crust has a nice crisp bite. Finally, the loaves of bread here are all quite nice — among the better loaves you can buy in London. Just as good as Paul’s. The FINALWORD: Save your pennies. Come here. Drink coffee, eat salad, watch people, grab some bread to go. Isn’t life beautiful?
