Lancaster Laundrettes

I have been coming here for dry cleaning and always had a good service for a very good value for money (i.e. much cheaper than dry cleaners I used to go to when I lived in other areas), plus they are open on Sunday which makes a huge difference in a busy person life
I have also used the launderette a few times when my flat was being worked on and I need to say that I don’t have any other comparison to make but seemed fine to me.
Also used to have breakfast in the little bar during my kitchenless period: the lady is lovely and the coffee is okay (which means good for a coffee maniac like me).
very convenient place in an area where there aren’t many options.

Ahhh the fun of being of living out of a hotel for over a month…
So, it was finally time to do some laundry and I found this to be the closest laundrette, so I walked on over with my 2 bags of laundry. When I get in there, there is no-​one to be found, so I have to yell back in to the office to get their attention. The guy comes out (not in a good mood to start with) and grabs my bags and gives me a claim ticket and says it will be done tomorrow. As I am walking out, I look at the price (24 pounds, which is avg) and think I wonder if they take credit card. When I walk back in to ask he says «NO» in a not so nice tone, so I tell him «OK, I know the place up the street does, so i will take it there.» He immediately grabs my bags (which he left sitting out in the main laundry area for anyone to take) and says «you give me 3 pounds to get them back» I said «No, why would I do that if you are not doing anything with them?» He says «I need to sell your ticket now» I say «I am not paying 3 pounds for a piece of paper» He takes my bags and throws them on to the shelf nastily. So I grab them and go to walk out. He comes running after me and says he needs the paper in the bag, so I take it out of the bag and toss it on the ground for him. I should have said «That will be 3 pounds» ;)
Talk about your HORRIBLE customer service. If I could give it zero stars that’s what it would get. I wouldn’t step foot in there again if it was the last laundrette in London!!!
STAY AWAY! The laundrette right up the road is the same price and very pleasant to speak with.
