Love this place. They serve fresh and delicious Vietnamese food. My favourite dish is the combination noodles, so jucy and tasty. Their phở is also amazing. Don’t skip the Vietnamese coffee for desert.

Love their vegetarian noodle soup, it comes with quail eggs and they were very generous with the fresh vegetables. Crave factor-​always gotta come back for more!

Mixed feelings about this restaurant. This is one of several other Asian restaurants on West End Lane. All of them are mediocre in My mind. What I also don’t get is why so many in the same place…
The restaurant is in need of a refresh, the décor is tired and feels dirty. As it is located close to the transport hubs it is not a good location.
The staff is friendly and efficient. Our first cocktails were horrible but the next two quite tasty. The food was also tasty and served promptly.
If only the décor was better I would have rated them higher…

Very good vietnamese restaurant in West Hampstead. The Phở is the best I’ve had outside of Kingsland road in London. Way better than the Phở chain. Also the spring roll dishes are all very good (both appetiser and noodle dish). We’ve also tried the curries which are good and also the pork chop. This is a very kid friendly place with great Asian food. This is what Wagamama should be if it wasn’t westernized. Highly recommended

La Dudu. Dudu?
I don’t know what that conjures up in your mind. But my mental image is less than savoury. Certainly not when it applies to a restaurant!
Toilet references aside, I was eager to try La Dudu for a while before I have it a shot. Driving past, I liked the look of the décor and the menu looked cool when I checked it out.
So. How was it? Well, a mixed bag really.
I did enjoy the ambiance and décor as I sat there. However… Where we were ushered by the waiter when we entered… Big mistake. We were one of a half dozen tables that is obscured by the large book case. Therefore, we spent the whole evening desperately trying to attract the attention of one of the three waiting staff.
After a while, I made a bold proclamation.
«I bet they add on a service charge to the bill, as opposed to letting the customer decide.»
And guess what? Smugnuts here was right.
The staff chatted and messed around, comforter by the knowledge that their tips were «safe».
So. The food. It was pretty much a rip off of Phở’s menu. Just without Phở’s decent service.
I must admit I am a fan of Phở (try saying that while you’re overhung!). Their truly excellent Unilocal Elite event showed me that, from the top of the organisation down, they are a great food chain.
Next time I crave the taste of ‘Nam… I’ll go to Phở.

It’s not excellent food, no, but it’s a consistently good experience with consistently good food — and that applies to both takeaway and eating in. I’d definitely rank it among my top restaurants in the area.
I’ve eaten in twice and done takeaway thrice and haven’t had cause to complain, with the exception of one time eating in when I ordered phở and didn’t get the side plate of extra veggies and lime (but I also didn’t know I was supposed to get in, so I didn’t ask). The combination platter is great. The summer rolls are delicious as leftovers for lunch ;)
The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and the restaurant itself is very cute and almost has a café feel. Definitely a good place to go for a casual date night or catch up with friends.

Boy. The food part of my previous review still holds, but the service is just so slow, and it’s every single time. Also, they dropped the soft shell crab appetizer, so I only have one go-​to dish now, the spring roll noodles.
My most recent experience, we went for dinner and were just about convinced they dropped our order (half an hour between starters and mains), except that the waitress said that the problem was the kitchen being backed up due to delivery orders. Maybe they’re used to people working on their laptops during the day, but for an actual meal, just stay home and order delivery.

Ladudu is the best viet we have found this side of Kingsland road in Shoreditch. With a car its easy to get to from Camden area and parking can be found near the station (out of hours)
The restaurant is very welcoming and I really like the layout… kind of a café meets restaurant, which is initially what I think they intended to be. They are quite proud of their viet coffee, which is good! The staff can be a bit hit and miss, mostly they are pretty friendly but ive had a few «too kool for skool» types serve me in there.
The food is mostly very good, my wife was a massive fan of the crispy chicken and tomato rice but they stopped doing the rice (not sure why as its an ausi favourite and the only place local that did it?!?) In fact orher than its often busy and I have to sit at the bar, my only other complaint would be they often remove things that we like from the menu.
They also now do a takeaway /​delivery service which is good! Although I dont think viet actually travels particularly well.
Id strongly recommend anyone hungry in the area pop in and give it a try!

We tried this place because Banana Tree was full. Very disappointing. The twice cook chicken was dry and tasteless. Felt like it was reheated in the microwave. The fried noodle with turmeric and lemongrass was better but not as flavoursome as hoped.

Cute Asian restaurant in NW corner — it is not very authentic but it is a great venue considering other alternatives in the area… of course, food is better if you come out Central or go East but if you don’t feel like travelling but craving for a Vietnamese food fix, this is a great venue for you. It is very clean and waitresses are very nice… great local joint.

This place was pretty good! Really good phở and the service was pretty good, not superb. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because we were not really checked on and we had to bug the server for more plum sauce and then, they only give you a small amount each time. Next time just bring us the bottle like most Vietnamese restaurants! Other than that, quite pleased and will return if we’re in the neighborhood again, craving phở.

I used to live 2 minutes away and eat there at least twice a week. Recently, I went swimming in Hampstead Heath and all I was thinking when I was in the pond was LADUDU LADUDU LADUDU and that was where we ended up for the evening. My favorite item on the menu is the special pork chop rice. The marinated pork chop was grilled to perfection, just the right amount of fat. There is also a small cake of pork prepared in a special vietnamese way and you can dip them into the sweet sauce that comes with the dish (think vietnamese pâté). To top that up, you have a small pile of pork rind and a fried egg, sunny side up. All of this comes with a heap of plain rice. Hmn. you stir the egg with the rice so the yolk is all soaked up by the rice and take that mouthful of rice with a small piece of pork chop and pâté — I am in pork chop rice heaven. The other thing which I always order is the spicy beef stew. I always wanted to know how they prepare the stew, I am guessing a handful of vietnamese spices. Well, the beef is not fatty and can be a bit chewy but the stew is so good that I can down two bowls of rice with that. These are the two things I always ordered. Oh and the iced vietnamese coffee is delicious. The appetizers are decent but one caveat, their phở is meh, don’t go there for the phở. They need to work on the broth. I have also tried the steamed seabass which was quite good. If you still have room for desserts, I would recommend their home-​made icecream. They come in a lot of unusual flavors and my favorite is Lychee. This place has a good selection of desserts. I think they are doing well, always full even on weeknights. If you are working in the area, they also serve vietnamese baguettes (the increasingly popular bahn mi) and a lunch set daily. In the afternoon, they also serve cakes. I used to sit there and enjoy a vietnamese coffee in the afternoon sun, they have these large couches by the window where you can sit and watch people walk by. If you want to have good vietnamese food in a modern setting, venture beyond kingsland road and take the jubilee line to west hampstead.

One of my favourite places for a quick, quiet lunch. Usually have what’s on their lunch set menu, always good. Meal with Vietnamese coffee about £8. Free wifi.

Let’s be honest, it has a name that will bring a smile to your face and make people think you’re saying something vulgar in French, but Ladudu is a gem of a find with not many other quality Vietnamese restaurants around.
Living only a few minutes away from this place I decided it was about time I tried it as i’m a big fan of Vietnamese food and hadn’t had any for a while.
As we went on a week night it wasn’t very busy inside so we didn’t need a reservation and were greeted and sat immediately. Inside the restaurant design is kind of a cross between industrial and authentic asian.
For starters we had the Vietnamese spring rolls and summer rolls, both of which had a lot of flavour and were very tasty. My main was called Bún Xa, which is a dish served with different options of meat (I went with the seafood option of prawns and calamari) as well as lemongrass, rice noodles, cucumber, lettuce, bean sprouts, mint, fried shallot and crushed roasted almond nuts. It. Was. Delicious! The chilli and tumeric KO’d my tastebuds and I was lucky there was plenty of beer on hand to calm them down. Everything was washed down with a refreshing lychee ice-​tea and a few imported Hanoi beers.
As if all that wasn’t enough for dessert I had plantain fritters with home-​made lychee ice cream and we all shared a pot of Vietnamese tea. By the end of the meal we were all thoroughly satisfied with the heavenly meal.
Every dish is available as it is or vegetarian (they exist, apparently so!) for those who don’t like meat and with the bill coming to about £25 each it represented pretty good value for money considering the excellent level of the food.
Afterwards I found myself amazed that I had never been here before and I will most certainly be dining here again!

I had dinner in La Du Du with my girlfriend on a Thursday night. We were quickly allocated a table within minutes of arriving.
Having walked past the place a few times, I always had the impression that the decoration was modern (though not necessarily Vietnamese). The big tall windows provide loads of natural light yet you never feel like it leaves you too exposed to the main street. We were surprised by how sticky the table was though — a bit of a disappointment on the hygiene side.
We ordered Calamari filled with Pork and Prawn for starter. This was a bit of a disappointment as the 3 ingredients don’t necessarily blend in too well.
For main, we ordered and shared a portion of Pork Skewers and a portion of Salmon. Both weren’t that rich in terms of flavour, poorly supported on the side and a bit small for a main. Note that they weren’t necessarily bad; the ingredients were clearly fresh and the salmon in particular was served covered in a nice sauce. But when looking at the bigger picture, you can hardly say it is amazing food.
Finally, we ordered Vietnamese coffee: good presentation, rich and well balanced with the condensed milk.
The bill came just short of £40. Hardly your money’s worth, taking into account the quality of the food and the size of the portions.
Overall, it is not a bad restaurant. But there’s nothing about it making it special either. If TripAdvisor had half stars, I would give this one a 2.5 more than a 3. But in all fairness, the staff was efficient, polite and discrete, the food came in quite quickly and there were some positives in both the place and the food so I giving it a negative rank wouldn’t be fair.
Not coming back for more. If you want Vietnamese food, go to Shoreditch.

I really enjoyed eating here. Although there are probably better vietnamese restaurants this London, this is a welcome addition to the West Hampstead restaurant scene. Ladudu has a nice modern café vibe, the summer rolls were delicious as was the papaya salad. Perfect for the current heat wave. The desserts were amazing. I recommend the toasted black sesame ice cream. Like others, I found the staff were a little slow, however not enough to dissuade me from visiting again.

Average Bahn Mi, but the Vietnamese coffee was good. Really not into the staff; my bahn mi order was forgotten and all the staff were arguing in front of me about who forgot to take the order. Very unprofessional. I was standing right there, being told I didn’t order something that I totally did.

Ladudu manages what many attempt and few accomplish in being both a wonderful restaurant and a relaxing café experience. The menu features a wide range of authentic Vietnamese dishes that take turns guest starring as affordable lunch specials.
As a restaurant, Ladudu is the best Vietnamese food I’ve found without having to go into Shoreditch. The noodles dishes are amazing, even by London’s high standards. I especially recommend the pork broth noodles in cold or wet weather. The dessert selection is amazing with the tapioca standing out above the rest.
As a coffee shop, Ladudu provides a quite, comfortable option over Starbucks or Costa. The coffee is high quality are the drinks carefully made. If you’ve ever wanted to know more about coffee, the outgoing and personable owner will be more than happy to offer you a crash course. In addition to coffee they offer a selection of cold drinks. The young coconut juice and seasonal smoothies are especially good. There is also a wide selection of loose teas. For those hoping to get a bit of work done, the free wifi, accessable powerpoints and comfortable seating is a godsend. Though I’ve tried my hardest to overstay my welcome, I’ve never been made to feel unwanted or uncomfortable. They just keep bringing more tea!
Long a well kept local secret, Ladudu is starting to become popular and fill up quickly during peak hours. Calling ahead for reservations on weekend evenings might be a good plan!

Last Tuesday evening I went to this restaurant after
mentioning it to my work colleague and friend and she replied that she had been
there quite a number of times and that I would love it. I must confess my last
experience with Vietnamese food was a long time ago and it was not a particularly
enjoyable one. There is no justification for someone like me that loves good
food no matter where it comes from to wait such a long time to give it another
shot. We got there at around 6.30 and the first impression of the restaurant
was the very pleasant décor, easy on the eye. They have got a few tables for 2
and some of them are large communal tables. My colleague trusted me in choosing the majority of the
dishes. I ordered 4 starters and 2 mains. When the starters arrived just the look of them were
shouting freshness. We started to tuck into the 2 cold ones first and what a
start that was! As soon the Summer Roll (I need to apologise in using the
translation because I am not very good at finding all the dots and bits on my
Pc) hit the taste buds I was entranced and felt I was being transported to Vietnam. Just
to think about it now brings tears to my eyes. It is amazing how a tiny dish
can evoke such a sublimanization of the senses. Anyway the Green Papaya Salad
followed suit and that was good too. I loved the Hot Vietnamese Spring Roll but
was not too crazy on Stuffed Calamari. I found them a touch too reach on the
palate. Then I went for the quintessential Phở, as I thought you can’t go to a
Vietnamese restaurant and not have such dish. I must say I am not a great fun
of broth based dish and Infact it didn’t do much for me. Don’t get me wrong I
am not saying that it wasn’t good it is just that it isn’t for me. My friend
had Stir fry beef noodles and I tried a mouthful and that was delicious. We
then went on the Ladudu Pandan and coconut fresh ice cream which although nice
and fresh I was not too excited about it. As the evening went on the place
started to fill up quickly and by 9 o clock when we left it was packed. Do I
want to come back? YES!!! If not only for the Summer roll, it would be worth
the trip and also I am planning to try
other starters. Thank you for such an ASTONISHING MEAL !!!
