LA Fitness

After reading all the reviews on here I was really skeptical about going down there to have a look as I recently wanted to join a gym.
Iv’e got to say its one of the best gyms I have been to before and I have been a member of Virgin and Esporta and visited various bodybuilding gyms in the past!
The staff are great from as soon as you walk in and get greeted by reception, the gym is on a HUGE 3 floors with all the equipment you could ever need, it has top of the range spin bike room, 2 very nice studios with 60 free classes a week, the personal trainers are also the best I’ve ever seen in a gym and the atmosphere is brilliant!
They even has 2 sunbed rooms, a massage/​physiotherapy room, a beauty room, a hypoxi center and colonic irrigation center.
What else could you possibly want? There are always 2 cleaners around cleaning away so its very clean and the interactive touch screen boards they have which teach you training programs and allow you to book classes are amazing!
And on here people are sayying the showers are freezing but if anything I find them too HOT! that is my only problem with the place!
DON’T LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS, BEST GYM EVER!

After being a member of la fitness New Barnet for 5 years the last 18 months it really went down hill dirty, air con never working, so many power cuts which results in closure of gym, broken hairdyers, the list is endless. Myself and another member had to dry ourselves with tissue after showering as there were no towels. I think if Health and Safety ever visited the club they would close it down, on the good side I do find the reception staff and instructors very friendly and polite, just management need a good shake up.

Went to LA fitness in Highgate to see about membership — BE WARNED: YOU ARE SIGNING A LOAN AGREEMENT NOT A MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT.
Didn’t sign up and couldn’t feel less valued as a potential customer if they tried

This must be one of the worst run health clubs in the South East, along with LA Fitness London Wall! Was a member for 2 years, now loving the Luxury of Nuffield City over by Cannon Street, which is like comparing a clapt out old metro with a brand new BMW! I will start with all the problems as there is many, no hot water, cold showers, unheated pool, spa pool that never works, mould and dirt in the sauna, dirty changing rooms that are the pits and are so dirty, the daft requirement to book group classes, having to wear a swim hat, broken lockers, out of date CV equipment, no free towels, no sky sports, broken headphone adapters. The place is dirty and needs a good old clean and is in dire need of an update. It takes them a month just to repair anything that goes breaks. The place is a very sad joke and needs taking over an operator such as Nuffield who know how to run a a health club. They are now send me email to rejoin at 20 quid a month, I would much rather pay 60 quid a month at Nuffiled City!

Pros: Decent length pool. Hot spa and steam room. Large sauna. Plenty of cardo machines and resistance machines with individual headset adaptors fitted and LCD panels.
Cons: Untidy, freeweights incomplete and some unlabelled, showers broken.
Overall a good gym — go early in the day when its less messy.

I was a member of LA Fitness for 12 months last year. They trapped me in to a 12-​month contract, which they forget to tell me when I signed up.
The gym however is very clean and tidy and open long hours so it suits all types of users. Good staff and great swimming pool.
