La Delizia

Why get pizza when in London? Because of this place. I’ll start by saying I highly recommend this place because of the food. High quality and totally authentic.

Great pizza here by Italian family, owned and operated since 1986. They know their pizza — it was primo! All pizzas are 12″ and 8 slices. It took of us to finish it. We got the house red as well and it was truly exceptional. All have thin crust, as Italians do it. And I’m pretty certain they import their cheese from the Motherland because it’s just that good. Aces on the food!

The wait staff was pretentious and kept texting and looking in the mirrors on the walls to preen, which was just rather annoying. Anyhow, they weren’t particularly friendly or inviting, especially after we only ordered wine and pizza.
Location is a bit off the beaten path down in Chelsea and the décor itself is nothing particularly special, but if you’re a pizza lover or in Chelsea, definitely try this place!

Great Italian style thin crust pizza. I’ve walked/​run past this place numerous times, and every time the smell captivates me and beckons me inside. I’m usually not one to eat at a (semi) romantic Italian restaurant by myself though, so I pass by and go on my merry way. I finally managed to find an occasion to go to Delizia though, and I was happily impressed. As an American, we certainly have a certain expectation when it comes to pizza, and we love all different styles. Not surprisingly, La Delizia is very much an Italian style thin crust pizza, and with around 20 different types (or you can make your own!) there are plenty of options. Add a nice bottle of house wine for £15 and you have yourself a bit of a steal for Chelsea. You’ll also occasionally see local celebs (former footballers, etc) here having a quiet meal since it’s a bit out of the way, so be nice to them, otherwise they might not come back!

A great local restaurant. A stones throw from the kings road, its great to find good quality italian food at affordable prices. The pizzas are excellent as are the pasta dishes on the specials board.
