Kaffeine

I was hesitant to stop in since there is so much hype surrounding this place, but I had a break midday and was in desperate need of a cappuccino so I stopped in and it was perfect. The space is small and fill up fast, but there’s also space to sit outside, or you can order to go. The banana bread is warm and comes with butter, and the staff was friendly and calm even though the place was very busy.
My cappuccino was incredibly smooth, rich, and perfectly roasted, measures and brewed. The prices are a little steeper than other cafes in the area, but it’s worth it for the perfect cup of coffee every once in a while.

This is by far my fav coffee place in London, and maybe even the world.
The location is very small, so there might not be a place to sit, but you can usually perch outside or just get everything to go.
The espresso and cappuccino are literally PERFECT and reasonably priced.
The food is also very good here, I like the little muffins and savory dishes alike.
My only gripe about this place is that its somewhat inconvenient to get to, its not really close to any tube stops that I frequent.

Decent coffee, decent area, great food. I think this is the hot spot coffee/​lunch place for the local offices. I can understand why. Its simple but effective.

Kaffeine is one of the big names of London coffee shops — for a reason. Their cappuccino is consistently great. Their «piccolo» (another name for cortado it seems) is also quite good, although I remember it being EXCEPTIONAL (in all caps, yes) once and have been chasing for that same «high» ever since.
The inside of the coffee shop is quite pleasing, although quite hot in winter (maybe because they often keep the door open). They also have complementary water (with mint I think) for guests.
All in all, deserving of any coffee lover’s attention.

Went here for Sunday brunch. A short walk from Oxford st, in a quiet and relaxed area of Fitzrovia. The soy latte was just right. The corn fritters with avocado were freshly prepared and healthy. Friendly and quick service.

Love the coffee here. One of the few places where you can get a proper black coffee, not a bitter americano. Go for the long black if you’re a coffee lover.

Amazing antipodean coffee and treats but not enough seating for a leisurely brunch.
I love this little coffee shop. In a lot of ways it reminds me of my fave little cafes back home in Sydney but with a touch of London cool. For starters, they speak antipodean coffee language and their coffee tastes amazing, to boot! None of that burnt-​tasting strong coffee that many British cafes tend to serve.
The baked treats at this place are also amazing… especially the lamingtons around Australia day time.
Don’t come here expecting a leisurely brunch spot though. The seating is cramped and it’s often a race once a table is vacated.
It’s a big call but this place is my pick for the best coffee in London… and the best lamingtons this side of Sydney!

A big selling point, and one that will keep me coming back to any coffee shop is the staff. I like them friendly and easy on the eye (you want an honest review, right?) You’ll find both of these things here. Oh, and the coffee is pretty decent too.
I’m a pretty big sucker for banana bread, too. Kaffeine probably does one of the best around the Oxford St area, so is worth nipping off the main shopping street just to catch a break from the crowds and stuff your face with cake.

Kaffeine is a great little coffee shop in soho, we arrived on a Friday just after lunchtime and this coffee shop was still busy, we where acknowledged as we walked in the door, lucky there was seating available outside where there was a large bench.
The have a wonderful tempting display of pastries and cakes (a little like riverhill coffee shop)
We ordered two lattes with a slice of toasted banana bread and a chocolate brownie.
Overall experience was quite good nice friendly staff, free wifi & clean toilets.

I was recommended this place by one of my best pals. Apparently the coffee is great and I even saw people there saying they were addicted to the coffee there. So maybe I should have actually got a coffee haha. I had the hot chocolate and it was nice but a bit small for the price I thought. I’ll get a coffee if I ever go back. The service was excellent too. Brought me tap water without asking for it which I always think is a nice touch.

Kaffeine has been on my radar since I moved back to London. I have been sampling various coffee shops and had pleasant experiences at Monmouth coffee and Timberyard. I don’t drink cows milk, so usually opt for a soya cappuccino, flat white, espresso or a long black. I read rave reviews about the homemade almond milk at Kaffeine so it sounded promising.
The coffee shop enjoys a central position near Oxford street and Soho. There is a nice bench outside from which you can watch the world go by. The interior is minimalist in design, the cakes look appertising and water is available in jugs, complete with mint, lemon, ice and cucumber. So far, I’m a convert. It seems like an unpretentious place which focuses on good coffee. I am torn between the bonsoy and almond milk. I am given a sample of the almond milk which tastes great but I am unsure as to whether I would like it in coffee so opt for the far more familiar bonsoy which usually guarantees a great cup of coffee. It costs 50p to add soya milk, which is a bit annoying, but I let it pass.
The coffee arrives and I notice the coffee art is a little messy. Some baristas know how to make pretty coffee art with soya milk, others don’t. No biggy. The taste is what is important. I start drinking and quickly notice that the soya milk has curdled. This rarely happens when baristas use alpro for professionals or bonsoy, and when it does, it means the barista has heated the soya milk too much. The coffee is undrinkable so I go to the barista to politely point out that the soya milk has curdled and that perhaps he heated it up too much. I am really used to this happening in places where people don’t often use soya milk or drink it in coffee themselves, but I think it is better to point it out rather than allowing the same mistakes to repeat themselves. Especially when the coffee is as expensive as it is here. This is when I notice how poor the service is at Kaffeine. «You have to drink it fast. This is fresh unpasteurised soya milk this always happens when you add it to coffee.» I pointed out that I and many other baristas use bon soy and even much cheaper soya milk brands in coffee and manage to avoid the curdling by keeping the temperature lower. He simply won’t have it and is adament that it is my fault for not downing my coffee immediately. I eventually got a refund but found his attitude pretty rude considering I just didn’t want to drink a cup of curdled soya milk, which he seemed to think was perfectly normal. Mistakes are normal, but not accepting customer’s valid complaints and replying with such obstinance is not okay.
So, the coffee here is probably good with normal milk. The almond milk is nice, as is the space, but I cannot return to a place where the service is so poor.

I was really excited to check out Kaffeine during my visit in London. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a friendly barista and she made sure I knew what I was getting.
They use and sell Square Mile beans, and after reading such wonderful reviews, I ordered a Flat White and asked for a pastry recommendation – to which she gave me a quick walk-​through of every baked good they offered. Despite her recommendation for one of the muffins, I opted for the toasted banana bread. GET THE TOASTED BANANA BREAD (caps for emphasis, of course).
The banana bread was paired perfectly with my coffee and I enjoyed every bit of it; it was a great way to start my morning.
They also have mint and lemon water to offer in the pitchers towards the back. There is also seating in the back corner, along the wall, and in front of the shop.
I would definitely come back and nab a seat in the front – perfect for people watching and enjoying the weather.

Small antipodean café in central london with excellent coffee and good selection of counter food. One of the few places I would trust to make a good proper long black or soy flat white. They use Bonsoy soy milk (if you’re a soy milk drinker you’ll understand why this is awesome!)

Great place for a great cup of coffee. The grind is perfect and you will get a great coffee each and every visit.
The food is also top quality and worthy of the coffee.
Try the flat white, you won’t regret it.

Small, no frills type of coffee place. Went for a cup of cappuccino with a magazine to read on a lazy Sunday afternoon, and it got the job done well. I do wish there were more comfortable seating, but I guess the lack of such is the whole point of such place like this. Hipster, cool, cozy, focused — that’s what this place is.

Kaffeine is a great little coffeeshop. They have a wonderful, tempting display of pastries at the front of the shop, and free wifi! What more could you want in life besides wifi and pastries?!
I got an iced americano and buttered banana bread. Unfortunately, I got it for take away, so I couldn’t get the entire Kaffeine experience, but I still have very positive things to say. I drank the coffee SO quickly because it was just so delicious. I saved my banana bread for when I was in class. I was a little sad that it wasn’t as warm and fresh as it seemed when I got it, but that’s my own fault (and it was still really good). I would definitely recommend people to eat their warmed pastries while they are still warm!
Iced americano was really good as well, although the straw opening is way too big causing the straw to fly around. I had to catch it everytime I wanted a sip, but it was well worth the minor annoyance to drink the yummy yummy coffee.

It’s a great spot. In fact, it’s embarrassing that it has taken me so long to pay a visit to Kaffeine; whenever I say I’m «big into coffee» people respond «yeah? Have ya been to Kaffeine?» which really just throws me into an existential crisis: no, I hadn’t been (until today) and… does that mean that I’m not coffee-​legit?
Anywho, existential crisis addressed because: I happily trotted to Kaffeine today, and can now answer an enthusiastic «YES! LUUURVED IT!» when people throw that question my way.
It’s a tight spot, but in lovely weather a whole area of seating opens up along the sidewalk. It’s worth noting that, alongside the great coffee options (flat white, always for this gal) there is also an impressively wide selection of teas.
Oh, but also: THE FOOD. YOU GUYZ. THE FOOD.
They had 3 salads on offer for lunch, with the stand-​out for me tossing in some pomelo. Pomelo! Yes.
There are indulgent desserts — brownies, blondies, Anzac cookies — but also a gluten free vegan version of a raspberry date bar that was killer. Tart and chewy and sweet and coconutty (not an adjective, I know, but roll with it).
5.20GBP for a flat white and a baked good, in and out.
Unilocal note: if you can, nab a seat and stay a while. The pitchers of water flow free, the vibe is great, there is a mixture of seating configurations and, well… the place is cool. Caffinated cool. Or, erm… Kaffinated Kool.

I’m gonna be updating this review soon, as I want to go back a few times more to really get the feel of their coffee.
+ The coffee is superb. Easily on par with Monmouth or Prufrocks, but afraid I don’t know the beans they stock.
+ The barista area is beautiful, I mean really beautiful. The staff are lovely aswell.
— Seating area is tiny, maybe 15 maximum. Consider each coffee as a to-​go option.
— It’s expensive, but you get what you pay for at least.
Verdict: a must-​stop for lovers of great coffee.

The coffee– perfection.
The customer service, however was also outstanding.
I walked into a room full of people with a great atomostphere and was welcomed by a nice smile as I ordered a latte to stay, not being entirely sure what I should get. I had a mini heart attack when I tried to find an empty place to take my seat, but before I could find a free space, a pleasant staff member pointed one out. I took my seat and not even a minute and a half later had my latte delivered to me, with a complimentary glass of mint and lemon water. What a great place, I cant wait to come back and see how well they do other coffee drinks on the menu.
