I’d been planning to come here for a couple years but I hadn’t gotten around to it until recently. The décor inside the restaurant is cute with a jungle theme. The«jungle noises»(an audio file with quiet rainforest-type noises) can get a bit annoying after a while but I guess it’s all part of the experience. The food was pretty good. I really liked the lamb ribs — the meat comes right off the bone. Wasn’t a huge fan of my beef burger though. Our waiter was extremely nice and friendly to us the entire time we were there. When he came over with the bill we even got a complimentary bottle of non-alcoholic cocktail/drink. I’ll definitely be back again in the future!

One of my friends raved about this place but it was kind of a let down and even he said that it wasn’t that great second time round. The service can be hit and miss, whereby people who came much later than you get served ahead of you. Food would come out in batches rather than together but when it did come the food was a mixture of good and not so bad. The chicken itself was decent but the other recommended sides underwhelmed and we would have all been better off going to Nandos

In my experience the food was good and wholesome and we got good service, been there twice now. Doubt it’s very genuine Saffa food. They are possibly a franchise type restaurant. ‘Roast’ potatoes were a let down they are more like skin on baked potatoes and not the ones you have with a Roast dinner! Fairly Cheap. ‘Jungle’ background music/noises is annoying!

Came here as a small group on a friend’s suggestion. It wasn’t very full when we visited during Friday lunchtime. It’s a modern diner and the décor is welcoming. We weren’t sure whether to take a seat or wait to be seated. They had jungle animal background sounds(instead of music), which was quite funny. There’s a lot of meat(halal) on the the menu, and generous portions too. I can only say that on view it looked good(see pics) and went down well with friends. I went for the prawn salad. It was delicious and served warm in a barbeque/mayo sauce. The desserts aren’t worth writing about to be honest, as this really isn’t their strong point — it didn’t resemble anything close to homemade — but don’t let this stop you from paying a visit.

After the Unilocal Elite event last week, I was wandering back to Aldgate East station and all that strenuous effort of bowling must have raised my appetite. I walked all the way down Brick Lane and to be honest, the hard sell from the waiters outside put me off as I like to browse menus before deciding whether to venture into a restaurant. So I had reached the end of Brick Lane with a pang of hunger and then I saw Jungle Braai. I do have a lot of South African friends and know that a braai is their word for BBQ and besides Americans, I think South Africans take their barbecuing very seriously indeed. There is the facility to eat in but I got some chicken to take away. Lovely flavour and well seasoned. If it was closer, I would return but well worth a visit if you’re in the area

Like the food, ordered the Jungle platter and another smaller platter. The chicken was baked really well, melt in your mouth soft, and obviously was seasoned very nicely. Romp steak was very nice as well. couldn’t get enough of the stuff, If I could change anything, I would go easy on the chicken(I eat chicken every day) and have a nice t-bone steak with the works. Service was excellent, not too invasive [a lot of restaurants staff can be invasive on a quiet night], but very quick and attentive to customer needs. Dishes brought out regularly and in time. Only criticsm would be that the hot wings and the whole chicken both had the same seasoning, and when you’ve got platters of chicken all around the table, it can be a bit much. Dessert was sub-par, manager told us that normally they serve haagan daz, but today ran out so served us what tasted like Sainsbury’s raspberry ripple. Not a nice way to finish a nice meal.
