The food is great! Generous portions which is great! However the service side not so great front of house, telephone and delivery takes an absolute age! Sort it out guys because there is genuine affection for you but this side of things could let you down.

After months of intending to visit, my first experience of Jerk Hut was rather an unplanned one. I stopped off to get a takeaway on my way back home not for me but my other half. It was 9 in the evening. I ordered a quarter of jerk chicken(mild) with rice and peas(other alternatives included plain rice or chips typical English) and coleslaw. I asked for a side of plaintain which they had run out of(here we go). I also asked for a side of macaroni which they had. For myself I wasn’t very hungry but felt like I had to sample their chicken so I ordered a quarter of jerk chicken(hot) by itself. My other half said the chicken was good(but not as good as another eatery down the road who shall not be named on here so as not to make my review biased) and macaroni cheese tasty but a bit dry. This is after he initially tucked into my chicken and said it was HOT. that’s mine! I exclaimed. Anyway as I said I wasn’t that hungry so I took my chicken and some of the OH’s rice and peas to work the next day and it was HOT and tasty. Just how I like it. Still, I’m not fussy but have definitely had better. Perhaps I need to eat in?

Have eaten here quite a few times and not sure in all honesty if it’ll survive. Portion sizes vary between visits and it prices itself more as a west end restaurant than east London. E. g £2.20 for small portion of coleslaw or Mac cheese. Seems to have dropped table service for Nando’s style order&pay at counter.

We tried Jerk Hut tonight for the first time, and we very very pleased with our experience. The jerk chicken, jerk wings, peas & rice and fried plantain are absolutely scrummy, a really reasonable price, and SO much healthier than chicken & chips from one of the many places available in the area! We shall be frequenting often!

Recently opened at an address that has always struggled so I really hope that the guys at Jerk Hut are successful. I had a delicious take-away from there yesterday that was great value at £11. There were eight pieces of Jerk chicken wings, macaroni pie, plantain and rice and peas. Plenty for two of us. I’ll soon return to dine in the restaurant with a few mates from Feast17, a group who dine out regularly in Walthamstow
