I never wrote a review on Unilocal before and I actually created an account just to write one for J Moriyama. To keep it short, it was so bad that I had to go to another hairdresser right after to get a decent haircut…

Wash, cut, blow dry, quick massage for 42 quid… not bad! Was easy to call in and book an appointment. Very friendly, but did not try to make chit chat during the cut, thank god. I like having this time to zone out and think about nothing, and they did a good job in letting me have my zen moment.

I went to this original one just last nite. Which I really liked and made me impressed was the price. Even Junko is the owner of this hair salon, the price was same with other designers. It means whether you have a haircut with other hairdressers or Ms. Junko Moriyama, the price for hair cut is 35. She trimmed my hair with some style with details. I really like this place and recommended here to some of my friends already. If you are keen to have detailed oriental style hair cut, here is the place you def should visit. Only reason why I rated not 5 but 4 stars is because of the location. B-) Other than that, it was a pleasant experience!

J. Moriyama’s a good place to go if you have Oriental hair. Firstly, the hairdressers here are, for the most part, Japanese, hence, they’re more familiar with the intricacies of Oriental hair compared to non-Oriental salons. That being said, during my two visits there, I have seen a couple of Caucasian customers as well. Secondly, there’re quite a few magazines showcasing the latest trends, so there’re plenty of photos of hairstyles for you to choose from, should you find there’s a bit of a language barrier between you and the hairstylist(which I, personally, haven’t encountered, but I’ve only used one stylist). Lastly, being around Bank means to me that they’re used to requests from people who needs more conservative hairstyles to fit in with the City. Rather unusually for a shop located in the City, these guys are open on Saturdays as well, from 11 am to 5 pm, which is pretty handy if you’re usually stuck in the office from Monday to Friday. FYI, I have long hair(longer than shoulder-length), and have paid £35 each time for my hair cut. While I have not used anyone else in this shop, the person who cuts my hair — Kumiko — has done a good job both times.
