Located opposite the Ibis hotel, Impresso is new to Commerical Road. It is a mixture of rustic and industrial with original Victorian tiles. The unassuming fitout of exposed wood beams and copper light features makes it down to earth, open, laid back coffee shop. There is fresh panini’s, croissants, bakes and other sweet treats. It also offers a small breakfast menu of scrambled or poached eggs, bacon, sausage, toast etc. However, the menu might develop as Impresso finds its feet. The strong coffee will definitely perk you up, and the free wifi is an added bonus.

They’re super lovely, the Impresso folks. I popped in for a chat, as I work nearby and I’m a nosy parker and I came out beaming that this lovely café had materialised. On first glance it looks a little on the dear end but actually I had a half-panini(avocado, pesto, mozzarella & tomato) for £2.80 which, when I opened the box, I realised came with a side salad. It was certainly enough for a decent lunch. If you want a full size panini it’ll set you back £5.50. I missed a trick — you can choose your bread! A mate of mine came out with a foccacia type thing that I was madly envious of. They’re in their first few weeks so there are testers galore — tried some delicious pistachio cake and a little red onion & tomato bruchetta. Fresh, simple but great.
