Iceland is predominantly(as the name suggests) a frozen food company, though their stock now includes bread, fruit, veg, booze, chilled items and snacks. All items are priced cheaply and they have weekly offers that are even cheaper. Choice is a little limited, but they are particularly strong in convienience food– chips, waffles, ready meals etc. I shop here for everyday items, as I live very close by, but do find they don’t stock everything I need.

Iceland was one of my favourite student day supermarket haunts. Prices rounded up or down to the nearest pound or 50p made for quicker aand simpler shopping, and their £5 frozen deals where you got several items enough to feed a family of four for a meal was great value. It was a shame there was never enough space in my own freezer to store everything, and you were screwed if there were only five of the six items available as there are no alternatives, but overall Iceland is a good place to get your frozen food. Although limited to non-frozen items they are beginning to stock a whole lot more stuff now from crisps, sweets, fruit and veg, dairy prodcuts, tinned goods and a few bathroom/kitchen products.
