Worst humous I have ever eaten. No taste to the food. Many of the options were not available. No soup. No Greek salad. The only thing they had is falafel and homous… And both were so bad… Just terrible.

Great place for a quick lunch. Their menu is easy to read — you basically choose a hummus bowl w/​pita or a wrap. You can add a salad and drink to your hummus bowl for an extra 3 pounds. They give a ton of hummus, so be sure to ration out your pita. The small portion w/​the salad is a ton of food, so no need to order a large plate.
The hummus/​guac bowl and hummus/​falafel bowls are my favorite.
If you’re dining in, grab a seat and someone will bring you menus shortly. If you’re dining out, go straight to the register to place your order.

I miss Maoz.
My favourite hummus and falafel place closed. And on the day I discovered this, I was still craving falafel, so I came here.
And it’s fine. I do enjoy that you can sit down and they’ll take your order and bring it to you. But because of this sit down waiter service, everything is way overpriced, and the hummus is overpowering and there’s not enough falafel to make up for it. It’s just all kind of… bland.
The service was surprisingly friendly though. That was shockingly nice and I did enjoy it.
But how can you fight with it when I used to be able to make my own box and fill it with everything I wanted and make it perfect to my own needs. This just can’t compare. It’s good… but it’s not great.

Love this place! Their hummus bowls are super delicious and fresh. Load them up with your favourite toppings (try the sweet potato falafels!) and devour. Their meal deal is only £8.95 for a small bowl (which is actually huge) a side and a drink. And their ginger mint lemonade is amazing! Great lunch spot — very, very filling!

As a self-​certified hummusexual (it’s a thing, trust me) this is one of those places that you have to try.
It’s a rather small outfit but rather cosy with a mixture of shared tables (if you’re smaller than a party of four) and benches.
The food is cheap, rustic and awesome. Various hummus topped dishes that you dive into with your warm pitta bread.
It’s all about using your fingers.

Recent transplant from HK who has been deprived of Middle Eastern food and finds her cravings satisfied at this delightful fast casual concept — the portions are small so recommend to go for large if u are sharing. The hummus is fantastic as all good homemade hummus is. The sweet potato falafel balls were kind of sour and not so good so give that a skip — will come back for affordable and healthy hummus bowls

Hummus Bros is a wonderful idea of baking hummus into a chipotle concept. You are definitely loading up carbs during your meal here (great if you’re planning to run afterwards, not so great if drinking is the only activity following this) but it is damn delicious. What you get is: a gallop of yummy hummus shaped into a bowl on your plate, which is then topped with whatever you want and dusted with paprika for extra kick. I will be back!

So I visited Hummus Bros for the first time today and I LOVED IT.
The place itself was busy, as is to be expected in soho during peak lunch hour, yet myself and a friend managed to grab seats by the window in the glorious spring sunshine. The décor is simple and clean and the place had a great vibe.
I went for the small hummus with pitta & some falafel on the side and it was all delicious. The falafel came in a portion of 3 for £1! They were super crisp on the outside and soft but not totally lacking texture in the middle. The hummus itself was a delight, perfectly creamy and topped with olive oil, tahini & paprika it was just to my personal preference (not being a fan of chunky hummus). It also came with a pitta already, which I hadn’t been aware of so I ordered a second that I didn’t need. The bread was fantastic– thick, tasty and warm.
The food is great value for money and there are plenty of options on offer. The website offers a great and super clear allergy menu & as such caters for pretty much every dietary requirement I can think of, including lesser marked allergens such as celery and tomato.
The only reason I’ve given four stars and not five is due to the fact I hadn’t pre-​checked the menu, there weren’t any available to me while I queued and I was suddenly faced with the having to make my decision having literally just clapped eyes on the menu 10 seconds earlier. I felt panicked to order quickly so I didn’t actually get to read what else was on offer!

Cheap and not cheerful…
Visited the one rainy Saturday evening and all I can say is stay away… The restaurant is dirty and disorganised. The wraps on the menu was out of stock so was most of the drinks. We ended up ordering salads IN WINTER! Needless to say the evening was downhill from there. The food was tasteless and COLD.
The cherry on the cake was the bathroom… It is so small I have no clue how one would be able to sit on the toilet.

I have been to Maoz in the US couple times and had a very different expectation from this place. However, that’s not their fault so I don’t blame them for that. I ordered for chicken with guacamole salad. This would qualify as their worst salad and guess what they had said this is their best seller.
The hummus they severed was pathetic, I mean pathetic in true sense because even Sainsbury sells better hummus so I am not even comparing the ones that is sold in Edgware Road. The guacamole was crap as well I mean you have to go out of the way to destroy guacamole. You can either make a good guacamole or not so good guacamole but to make crappy guacamole you have to be really bad.
The falafel seemed refried and again you get better readymade falafel in supermarkets which actually are not great themselves.
All in all, this place killed my appetite. At least for the namesake they could be making good hummus. Will never go back again.
The two stars is got service. I actually would give 4 stars to the service but since was 0 of not a minus I had to average this to 2 stars.
Try and avoid this place. Wardour street has multiple options which are way way way better.

This was my go-​to meal when I lived in London. It was so cheap compared to everything else with SO MUCH FOOD! My favorite has to be just plain low-​fat hummus that has paprika, tahini and cilantro sprinkled on it, paired with hot pita! The other ones I’ve tried that I enjoyed was the chicken tikka masala and the chicken hummus. Hummus Bros is amazing, and I hope they expand internationally. The mint-​tea is amazing, and the workers there are super nice! I filled the stamp card TWICE during my four months in London. That’s how obsessed I am with this place. Ever since then, I haven’t been able to find hummus that could have matched Hummus Bros. Must… go… back!

If you are looking to step your hummus game up, you are looking at the right place. These folks serve up some truly delicious hummus with amazing toppings. I couldn’t make up my mind so I got both the beef with aubergine, the chicken with the guacamole and a side order of falafels. The hummus orders both came with pita bread (the whole order was enough to share between three people). I asked for extra forks and napkins on the way out so the employees wouldn’t think it was all for myself (it was).
⁵⁄₅ would definitely attempt again.

«Give me some of that, a little more of that, lots more of that… oooh, and a couple of those too!» Hummus Bros succeeds in turning me into a complete glutton, and their salad selection usually ends up whipping me into frenzy, ordering a mountain of sides that I’ll end up not finishing, resulting in my lunch also serving as my dinner too.
I love the concept of this place, being able to customise your food is always something that catches my attention. Being able to include or exclude what you like and don’t like ensures that you’ll get something you love. Everything is lovely and fresh, especially the pitta breads, and the selection available is a haven for both herbivores and omnivores alike.
My only complaint is that the taste of hummus can sometimes be a little artificial — like it’s got chemicals in or something? Perhaps it’s just me, however, as I’m used to the shop bought kind. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy something healthy and filling.

Honestly, I am obsessed with their falafel and hummus!
As other people have mentioned, I became so full even with a normal portion but it was moreish!
My order for the first time was ‘Hummus bowl with Chicken & Falafel salad’ which was beautiful!
The hummus salad was mild and creamy with rich sesame flavour. Then crunchy aromatic falafel and chicken gave a wonderful accent! Tender Tzatziki also helped to make a wonderful completion of the dish!
For the second time, I finally ordered «Hummus bowl with Guacamole and falafel salad which was great as I expected!
I felt their passion into the brand (as you can see they put effort into the design of bags too!) and they select the ingredients carefully.

Interesting eateries are abound in Soho, and my partner and I have been eating our way through all the cheap eats.
We came here for a cheap veggie lunch on Saturday. We were initially surprised to see the price was double the price described on the website; apparently this is because it was the weekend, though the takeaway menu was much cheaper. We took advantage of the 26 degrees celcius sunny weather and headed to Soho square with our hummus bowls.
I opted for the small Falafel salad hummus bowl which cost £4.95 with a pita bread. My partner got the large which was considerably bigger and had an extra pita, costing £1.20 extra. The wholemeal pita was served warm and was quite different to the supermarket pitas you get, nice surprise. The hummus itself tasted a little bland and the addition of tzatziki was not to my taste. The hummus lacked garlic, lemon juice and tasted too processed. It was a filling lunch, okay for the price though nothing to write home about. I found the whole experience a little bit underwhelming, aside from the sun in Soho square, which was lovely.

I can only speak to their literal bite-​sized baklava, and although extremely pricey (in my mind, a pound each), this is hands_​down_​the_​most_​phenomenally tasting thing you will ever wrap your lips around. They also don’t use walnuts, which often leave a very bitter and musky taste on your tongue, they use chopped pistachios, which give the delicacy an amazing crunch without feeling to grainy. The simple syrup is traditionally thick and sticky but not tastebud-​shockingly sweet, which allows you to taste the rest of the layered pastry and all its crispy, airy, and light goodness. Served adorably in a tiny box with three diamond-​shaped pieces wedged inside, it is an amazing after-​meal touch, and a wonderful surprise to bring home and enjoy with an in-​house cup of tea, coffee, or cappuccino.
Staff are extremely friendly and welcoming as well. The moment you hover in their doorway, they are welcoming you inside, trying to seat you, and explain the menu.

I am a harsh critic of falafel places. I don’t usually like falafel. I don’t usually like baklava. I am a vegetarian and tend to cringe when people just assume I’ll like falafel. They are usually overspiced and a poor balance of flavours, the hummus is usually mediocre, the tzaziki is usually too sour, etc and I always just feel disappointed.
Thus was my mindset going into Hummus Bros: I was so pleasantly surprised.
[ we ordered ]
* the sweet potato falafels with tzatziki. Delicious and by far the freshest, yummiest, most well-​balanced tzatziki I’d ever tasted. We asked for extra. I wanted to buy a jar and bring it home.
* the guacamole and falafel salad with pita bread. Everything was so fresh, well-​balanced, and light. Portion size was large enough that we asked for more pita. A delightful meal that leaves you feeling full without being weighed down, satisfying while still being insanely healthy. I could subsist daily on the food served here and my body would sing.
* mint and ginger lemonade: couldn’t taste the ginger, but still delicious.
* baklava: again, I was skeptical — most baklava is too sweet, too cloying, sticks annoyingly to the inside of your teeth, simply too damn big to finish, etc. This baklava was none of those things. This baklava was delicious and light and just the right amount of sweet and the perfect way to end our meal.

Cute, clean, hip vibe. Big dark low wooden tables with benches, great for groups or pairs, as well as a nice bar against the walls and windows. Great music choices. The story of the place is written out on the bathroom walls. Very human.
[ to conclude ]
Absolutely nothing wrong with this place. Definitely a lunch and takeout staple that your body will love you for. Amazing value. What a great business. I hope they expand and take over the world.

Any restaurant that goes with the tag-​line ‘give peas a chance’ is pretty damn awesome so Hummus Bros was already on to a winner in my eyes. The concept is pretty simple, you order a hummus base and chose a topping which comes served up to you with some warm pitta breads which you can use to scoop up the goodness and shovel into your drooling mouth.
There are also a number of extra sides and salads which you can order to make up a proper meal. I’m a sucker for a Lebanese (food that is) so I also ordered the tabbouleh salad as a side dish — and I can confirm it’s amazing. It’s got the right kick of limon juice to balance out of the tomatoey, parsley goodness and tastes amazing spooned into your hummus mixture. I also went for extra jalapenos…
Best of all, this is health food?! I know I don’t believe them either right!

Obsessions can sometimes be a good thing. Sure, people might look at you and point fingers if all you do all afternoon if saying how much you’re craving falafels. But then, you might end up (FINALLY) visiting this great little place that’s been on your list FOREVER and it might end up being just as good as you imagined it would be.
Hummus Bros does very much what it says on paper: hummus. And then a few extra stuff to eat it with. The wraps are a good option if you’re very hungry as they are HUGE!
I absolutely loved the Falafel Salad. But the star of the show? The hummus bowls! Basically hummus with whatever toppings you want pilled high on it and served with warm, fluffy pitta bread. The simplest of ideas, but a very tasty one indeed!

Delicious humus, awesome portions, great prices. What more could you ask for?
The server was nice and the food was fast too.

Uno empieza pensando… ¿Hummus? ¿pero eso no es puré de garbanzos? El caso es que sí, es puré de garbanzos pero no sólo puré.
En Hummus Bros. lo hacen muy bueno, tanto el hummus como lo que va con él. La verdad es que cuesta pensar que algo tan mediterráneo como el hummus pueda combinar con guacamole, por ejemplo. Lo hace y lo hace muy bien.
Ha sido una gran sorpresa, en el centro de Londres, con tanta oferta gastronómica, encontrarse algo tan diferente, tan rico y tan económico (para lo que es Londres, claro) Muy recomendable.

Le Houmous y est mis à l’honneur et peut s’accompagner de différents ingrédients au choix: poulet, guacamole, taboulé, falafel,… Le tout accompagné de délicieux pain pitta servi chaud a dipper dans le Houmous, un régal.
Il y a deux tailles de portions et, malgré mon grand appétit, j’ai eu bien assez avec la plus petite des deux. J’ai opté pour le Houmous avec taboulé et n’ai pas regretté mon choix, c’était super bon! Frais, croquant et léger, j’ai adoré. Ils proposaient aussi des falafel de patate douce que je recommande vivement!
Les places assises sont comptées mais les gens né restent pas des heures donc le temps d’attente si la salle est plein est relativement limité.

Netter Laden, nichts dagegen zu sagen. Aber für uns war das Essen doch etwas zu britisch abgeschmeckt. Dei Falafeln haben nur nach Minze geschmeckt und das Tabouleh war so sauer mit Zitronensaft abgeschmeckt, dass wir den erst garnicht essen konnten.
Schade.

Ich habe über diesen Laden sogar in meinem London-​Führer gelesen, also war ich interessiert, hatte aber auch gedacht, es würde sehr voll sein. Es war aber schon 14:00 Uhr und es war gut besucht aber wir haben einen Platz am Fenster bekommen.
Man bestellt an der Theke und kriegt das Essen dann an den Tisch gebracht, beides ging schnell und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich.
Der Hummous wird in eine Schüssel gesrichen, mit Olivenöl beträufelt und die Extras kommen in separaten Schälchen. Auf den Tischen steht auch noch Zitronensaft zum Abschmecken. Das Essen ist super lecker, recht günstig und wir wurden von der kleinen Version satt. Die homemade Lemonade ist auch lecker.
Alles in Allem ein toller Laden! Wenn wir wieder in London sind, essen wir auf jeden Fall wieder hier :-)

Klasse Laden, sehr lecker und gar nicht teuer. Das einzige, was uns gestört hat, war die übereifrige Bedienung, die mehrfach den Tisch abräumen wollte, als wir noch gar nicht fertig waren und nachdem die Teller endlich weg waren, kam auch schon unverlangt die Rechnung. Ansonsten aber sehr empfehlenswert.

Wer Hummus mag, kommt hier voll und ganz auf seine Kosten. Auch als Veganer hat man eine große Auswahl, mind. vier der sieben Toppings für das Hummus dürften rein pflanzlich sein (Kichererbsen, Fava Beans, Pilze oder Salat). Das Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut ok, eine normale Portion Hummus, Pitabrot und Topping kostet zwischen £ 4,00 und £ 5,80 (kleine Portionen: £ 2,80 bis £ 4,60). Neben den Hummusgerichten bietet die Speisekarte noch diverse Salate und Desserts an.
Einziger Wermutstropfen: wer auf seine Figur achtet, sollte hier nicht allzu oft essen gehen, denn mit Öl wird doch recht großzügig umgegangen…

Diesen Laden schlug eine ehemalige Hamburger Kollegin, die seit Jahren in London residiert und dort eine deutschsprachige Zeitung (
) produziert, im März 2010 als Treffpunkt vor.
Auf ihr Urteil gebe ich was. Schließlich war sie es, von der ich einst (wie in meinem 500. Qype-​Beitrag (
) beschrieben) meine allererste Qype-​Kontaktanfrage erhielt. Und die mir damals den Anstoß lieferte, mich nach einem monatelangen Dasein als Karteileiche einmal näher mit Qype zu beschäftigen. (Ich dachte mir: Eine Website, die Christiane mag, muss interessant sein!)
Die Hummus Bros. gingen also in Ordnung, zumal ich auch schon anderswo positive Kritiken gelesen hatte. Time Out (
) zum Beispiel gab 2008 die Höchstwertung (

Man muss natürlich Hummus mögen eine orientalische Spezialität, die aus pürierten Kichererbsen, Sesam-​Mus (Tahina), Olivenöl, Zitronensaft, Salz und Gewürzen wie Knoblauch, Petersilie, Chili und Kreuzkümmel besteht.
Bei den gleichnamigen Bros. gibt es zahlreiche Variationen. Die kleinste (chickpeas /​small) kostet 4,70 Pfund, die größte (chunky beef /​regular) 7,70 Pfund. Man kann noch diverse Ingredienzen hinzubuchen, von 50p (free-​range egg, s. u.) bis 90p (tzatziki).

Auf der Gastro-​Meile der Wardour Street findet man sehr viel gemütlichere Läden als die Hummus Bros., bei denen man auf langen Bänken ohne Rückenlehne sitzt. Aber die Qualität der Speisen ist hervorragend, und es gibt laut Website kostenloses WLAN. (Auf unserem Tisch hätten wir überhaupt keinen Platz zum Ausbreiten eines Notebooks gehabt, aber vielleicht ist das ja eine interessante Info für Nutzer WLAN-​fähiger Smartphones, deren Begleitung weniger spannend ist als Christiane und ihr Freund ;-) .)

Un bar à houmous! C’est du jamais vu comme concept! Et pourtant, cette initiative née de l’idée de deux copains a fait du chemin. Ca plaira aux fans de cuisine méditerrannéenne.
Voilà comment ça marche: on vous fournit une base de houmous, vous choisissez la garniture (champignons/​poulet/​guacamole/​boeuf/​haricots…) Le résultat est très satisfaisant. Il y en a ni trop, ni trop peu, le tout est accompagné d’un très bon pain pita à la couleur brune. Possibilité d’ajouter des extras comme de la feta, ou de commander des accompagnements (aubergine grillée, taboulé…)
On paie le prix du fait maison: £5 à emporter (!), mais à essayer au moins une seule fois. D’autant plus que le personnel est sympa, le cadre assez lounge et le wifi est gratuit, pour ceux qui déjeunent sur place.

Mit das beste Preis-​/​Leistungsverhältnis in London. Und leckeres Essen vor allem, dazu sehr guter und aufmerksamer Service. Natürlich gibt es nur Gerichte rund um Hummus, wie der Name schon sagt, das sollte man also schon mögen. Absolut empfehlenswert, habe da schon mehrfach gegessen und wurde nie enttäuscht. Haben zwei Filialen, soweit ich weiß.
