This is a small takeaway Kebab house with a small wall bench to eat in should you wish to. On first impressions it seems a little dingy, on second impressions too, if the truth be told. The staff are laid back and friendly enough in a relaxed way. When I walked in they were joking with a regular who was trying to haggle for a discount on his already cheap Cheeseburger meal deal! The two spits of Donner looked equally unappetizing so I looked to the skewered meats. The skewered Lamb Shish looked fatty and grey, in the end I opted for the chicken Shish. The pita was heated just right and the salad was about as average as you can get with the pickled chillies being overly bitter. The Chicken cubes themselves were quite bland and noticeably dry. The Chilli Sauce was the best thing in the pita, hot, thick and savoury — not up there with the best but still so much better than sweet ketchup based ones. Price wise they are cheap, but you are not getting good quality so the actual value is questionable. I can’t really recommend this place because of the apparent lack of cleanliness but it seems popular enough with certain locals.

I have had two take-away’s from Horn Lane Kebab now. Both times I went for their Chicken Kebab, which I absolutely LOVE! You can tell it is fresh, that they use good pieces of chicken, not slobby pieces with skin left on them like some places. They are also very friendly. My boyfriend who always goes for a Döner Kebab didn’t like his though. Said it was one of the worst he’s ever had. I don’t like them anyway, so I have no idea whether this places makes them well or not. The downside is that they are very expensive in my opinion. Paid over £12 for two kebabs with chips. I think this is too much for a couple of kebabs.

Yum! This is predominately a takeaway restaurant although there you can choose to eat there at the small wall-bench perched on a bar stool. Either choose off the menu or pick the meat and sauce that you would like from the display counter; all food is then cooked in front of you(obviously it is to some extent pre-prepared). Watch your naan bread come straight out of the tandoor. In addition to the curries, you can get a(Tandoori /tikka) chicken /lamb wrapped in naan with sauce and salad for about three pounds. Sometimes you get free popadoms to eat whilst waiting for your food to be cooked!
