hither green rail station

Level access is available from platforms 4 and 5 only which I imagine can be a bit annoying. Otherwise the station is fine but sadly never seems to have any ticket inspectors there, and since I know a lot of people come to and from town using the wrong travelcard (zone 1 – 2 instead of zone 1 – 3), it’s a bit galling to those who do pay the full fare!
Trains are frequent and fast, and the coffee stand on platform 5 is a nice treat in the morning.

Only 15 min from London Bridge to Hither Green and 20 min from Charing Cross. Hither Green Station has only one Exit. London Tourists may forget to use their Oystercard by leaving the Station.

Trains to London Bridge are frequent and fast. Lack of pram and wheelchair access a major concern.

don’t rely on the map– they have neve been my strong point! lol. i thought i would give this station a mention because of the staff and facilities. The first thing you come across is a shop– and a good one at that! the stafff are good, and they do a good cup of coffee (90p or large at £1.20p) which you have to admit, is not that expensive! the staff at the station are very friendly and helpful, often going out of their way to help you. the platforms and structure are clean, always! and the toilet is always clean, and is locked– get the key from a member of staff. it is very safe as well, with the rozzers often waiting there, and plenty of cameras. considering the amount of people that use it, i think the staff do a good job. a word of warning though– i have not seen any lifts, and there are a quite a lot of stairs!) — if you happen to spot a lift then let me know!
