Hilton London Bankside

The best executive lounge I’ve entered in a long time. In fact, it’s one of the few that hasn’t been closed for renovation or some other reason lately. Attentive service, good English breakfast, excellent Tea service, great dinner appetizers. Drinks, drinks, drinks!
As my taxi driver pulled up he noted this is a relatively new hotel as he was unaware it was even here. Checkin was a breeze, the hotel is new and modern with good sized rooms for Europe. Well stocked complimentary mini fridge in room. Free liquor in the executive lounge, I didn’t even need to bring my half gallon of Jameson’s!
While the hotel is t really Bankside, it’s just across the street so just a bit of poetic license. But with the service and freebies, I’ll give them a pass on that.
I recommend this and while I like to try different hotels, I do have a favorites that I visit over and over again. The London Hilton Bankside will be added to that list for sure.

Il a tout pour plaire, ce Hilton: sa déco moderne, son hall accueillant, ses chambres spacieuses avec sdb top top (entre autres une douche pour au minimum 4 personnes à la fois ;)), super buffet petit déjeuner avec mention spéciale pour les gaufres que le chef te prépare à la minute (comme les pancakes ou les oeufs comme tu les veux), réceptionnistes très prévenants, etc etc.
Son emplacement est plutôt pas mal aussi, à 5 min de la station de métro Southwark qui te mèné en qq minutes au centre comme à St Pancras.
Ha oui… j’oubliais le + important: son prix très attractif pour Londres qui, d’ordinaire, affiche des prix un peu fort élevés pour le service qu’on reçoit au final.
Bref, j’y retournerai !

I enjoyed the service here. Quite impeccable. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The room service was fantastic as well as the in house restaurant staff and menu. The designers of the hotel thought to include a defrosting of the mirror in the bathroom, so it does not fog up. The was a special touch. The maid service was great, and turn-​down was fabulous as well with slippers set beside the bed and robes in the bathroom. The reason I can’t give it 5 stars is that the electrical outlet in the bathroom is only suitable for shavers and not blowdryers, so you cannot blow-​dry your hair in the bathroom. It would be OK to blow-​dry your hair in the main room if they had supplied a mirror in the main part of the room, but there wasn’t one. Unfortunately, I had to sit at the desk, plug in the dryer, open my laptop and set it to FaceTime to see myself well enough to dry my hair. It was a funny situation actually because it rained a bit in London and I ended up wet anyway, but I still wish the hotel had either a mirror in the main room, or an electrical outlet stable for blowdryers in the bathroom. One other comment would be to extend the glass on the shower a bit so that it doesn’t leak out as much. I’m sure that will mean more to your housekeeping staff… and the longevity of your floors than to your guests. Other than that, I really enjoyed my 1 week stay at Hilton London Bankside.
