I love Health Zone mainly because it’s a health shop and clinic which is pretty close to my house in Wimbledon. They focus on healthier and non-industrial food system products. They have a pretty good vitamin selection and good range of natural and organic bodycare brands, lots of organic/less-mainstream packaged goods. It would be great if they had a fresh produce section.

Health Zone is a good place to visit if you’re a nutrition conscious individual or if you’re looking for remedies for colds, skin problems, hair problems or you’re generally feeling rough. They have good diet books as well as books for those interested in things like digestion, sports therapies and food. Downstairs they have a clinic offering various massages, such as aromatherapy using essential oils, Indian head massage, shiatsu, reiki, sports and deep tissue massage as well as pregnancy massage and Swedish massage. The staff here are really helpful and have some good advice if you’re looking for something specific. Some of the items in here can be pretty expensive as they are specialised products.

This upmarket health food store is very well-stocked with renowned and more eclectic brands. There’s plenty of choice in supplements, food, ingredients, skin care and books. Pretty much anything that the savvy health connoisseur might require. The layout is easy to browse. Staff are pleasant. When you want to treat yourself to a facial, or complementary health consultation, there’s a fairly spacious clinic downstairs. They’re open later than many of the other shops in the area.

This store, located very close to Wimbledon train station, is a real collection of ‘stuff’ under one roof and I love it! I could spend hours browsing in there and spend an absolute fortune, so I do have to be very careful. OK, so it has many parts: a bustling clinic, deli bar, mini-book store which also sells a wide range of organic foods and equipment needed to keep up with«alternative» eating trends(I say that as being one of those who follow not-so-mainstream diets!), a section where you can purchase a whole range of nutritional supplements, skincare and bodycare products. My favourite sections are the food sections(always on the lookout for new products and ideas) and the skincare sections, where they stock a large range of Dr Haushka skincare products as well as Neals Yard skincare. Oh yes, and lots of different remedies and aromatherapy essences … divine. I’ve not yet sampled any of the therapists services at the clinic which is a large part of the Health Zone but they offer shiatsu, reflexology, facials, osteopathy, acupuncture, homeopathy, counselling, aromatherapy … lots of lovely things. I gave it a rating of 4 as it really can be a one-stop shop for everything. OK, prices are a teensy bit on the high side but at least you can get it all in one basket, rather than dashing from one store to another on a fools errand!
